John Roush from Ushomeownersmarketing.com called me to offer insurance leads. A guaranteed sale for $18 each. The program works like this: we pre buy 25 sales for $450 and they send us leads 1x day Mon-Thur until I sell 25 clients. They keep replacing the leads until I reach my prepaid sales number and then they sell me another block. They offer a link between clients and financing companies. Their online web request does not work. The website does not allow you to send a request for home financing. Conveniently. Their only form of payment accepted is to overnight them a check.

No Credit Cards. The checks go to a UPS store on Ventura Blvd in Tarzana CA. Mighty strange for a company that's been around for years and works with more than 125 lenders and multiple brokers, real estate agents, etc. The only reference John would give me was a person called Bill Wills from Phoenix AZ. I called Bill and he gave glowing reports of the company and talked about his own job of being on the road 12 hours a day as a life insurance agent who was trying to open a P&C shop by using this service.

Unfortunately, there is no record of any licensed agent in AZ by that last name that has anything to do with William or Bill. His linkedin.com profile shows EVENT SERVICES as his industry and has 0 connection or other information about him. Hmmmmm........... Acording to John their company has been paying $5-6000 per month for several years to stay at the top of the Yahoo and Google search engine, yet the registration comes from Scottsdale AZ and was issued in Feb 2013. Hmmmmmm......... I have sent a business review request to the BBB and also alerted the West Valley police.

If the Original Poster Carl never had any association with your company, how did you know his last name and telephone number? It is not in the original post.

Something tells me his post is a lopt more accurate than yours.

US Homeowner Marketing Scam

AUTHOR: Tony - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 11, 2013

I experienced the same scam as the earlier post with US Homeowner Marketing.  John Roush is a very smooth talker with a New York accent, who overcame any objections I had about his program.  I am a new agent and am under a lot of pressure to write business.  This is just enough money, $360, to send off and hope for the best.  I met his sales call with many objections.  Who can promise you a lead that if it doesn't sell, they will replace it?  It is full proof right?   They initially sent me two leads after the phone call.  I proceeded to send them my money.  I received 4 more leads and they quit sending them.  THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM AND I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GIVE US HOMEOWNER MARKETING ANOTHER DIME!

As a new business owner you receive many solicitation calls.  Please don't use this company.  If you try to Google them, their site is under construction.  If you try to call them you receive an answering machine.  If you try to email them they don't respond.  I am furious I fell to their tactics.  I feel they caught me at the right time--within the first two months my doors opened.

I see a rebuttal from US Homeowners Marketing about the guy with the earlier client not actually being a client.  This is complete B.S.  I am expecting the same rebuttal from US Homeowner Marketing representative.  I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who fell for this.  I am hoping by taking the time today to write this, someone reads this and doesn't fall for this complete scam of a company.  If you read this US Homeowner Marketing, shame on you for stealing money from the honest hard working American business man.  In the end you will get yours!  I am a firm believer in CARMA and you will be dealt with sooner or later!

Update of concern

AUTHOR: Carl - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 21, 2013

This morning I received a phone call from someone calling themself John Anderson, ostensibly associated with US Homeowners Marketing.  He seemed understandably upset about the report I filed and asked me in direct terms to remove it in any way possible or that he may be forced to seek legal action.

At no point during the call were any of the concerns I listed in the orginal report covered or explained to my satisfaction.  He only reiterated several times that I am and never have been a client of theirs, with which I agreed totally.  IF this is a legititmate company I am fully willing to retract/alter any statements that may seem unfavorable.  At this time, there has been no interaction between US Homeowners Marketing and I that would help me feel at all comfortable with their business.

All the previous statements, while not favorable to their company, are true as I understand them.  I placed the original report for the express purpose of allowing other agents who are concerned about the opportunity a place to research what one person's experience has been.  Any clients or others associated with this company are free to provide information and details that they feel may help assuage the concerns listed on the report.
