U.S. Medical Department As noticed in other reports, I received a call from a man with a very heavy Indian accent. He wanted to confirm that I recently had bladder surgery and that I would be entitled to compensation once he obtained more information from me. Willard Ohio

I received two calls today from two different men from two different locations (Ohio & Florida) and two different phone numbers.  The men had heavy Indian accents -- one was very difficult for me to understand.  They both told me that they were calling me about my recent bladder surgery.  I spent several minutes on the phone with the first one, the second one I told him that I was reporting him and his colleague and to remove my number.

I told the first caller (Willard, Ohio) that he was violating HIPPA laws and whoever gave him my information was also violating HIPPA laws.  I asked the first caller what company he was with and he stated he wasn't with a company -- he is with the Federal Administration.  I asked which department and he told me the U.S. Medical Department.  What??  What department is that?  

The callers advised that they needed to collect information from me and pass on to their attorney so that I could be compensated. I asked for the attorney's name and he refused.  This is clearly a scam.

I am getting calls daily from a Florida number and have been disconnecting once I could tell it was a telemarketer.  The calls were harrassment and now have escalated to breaking federal laws.
