Us Xpress only interested in rehires at orientation Colton California

i agree with the other posters here. attended orientation end of october, drove 500 miles unpaid to attend (were told by recruiting we would be reimbursed but hasn't happened, of course). on the first day, 2 other teams were sent home almost immediately upon arriving, unsure what the reason for the first team (2 women) being sent out, second team lasted until the older woman (late 50's) part of the team was unable to step up to the second step on a step ladder during the "strength test". her husband was knocked out because his blood pressure was "too high".

when time came for my physical, surprise! my blood pressure was too high! i asked that it be taken again and it came down a "little". the doctor they use is an on site physicians assistant, not an MD. it was strange that in talking with several other drivers onsite that (hearsay) "alot of people fail the blood pressure test and/or dont make it through the first day". i had also recently quit smoking and had a little noise in the chest from that and that was the clencher, disqualified! i spent my own money going to a MD to make sure there was nothing physically wrong with my respitory system, got a note from the MD saying i was qualified to drive. took it back to the PA and was told that wasnt good enough!!!

now stuck with not only the cost to get here but also the cost to return home. quit a good job because us xpress will not allow you to attend orientation if you are still employed so now out of a job too.

please!!! make sure you are in absolutely perfect health and have the money to get your self home WHEN they find whatever reason it is they can to not hire you. several of the people i talked to were on their 2nd and 3rd tries to get hired. i chose not to play that game. they lost a very good driver so i figure its their loss not mine, i can get another job but it sure wont be with us xpress and i will make sure to let everyone i meet know why i dont work there!
