MOVER BEWARE!!!

AUTHOR: Texas Mover - ()

POSTED: Thursday, October 24, 2013

MOVER BEWARE! Please do your homework and save yourselves the time and headache of working with this company. They are listed on the DOT federal website as UNLICENSED, UNINSURED and UNAUTHORIZED to do business. They broke a number of laws they were supposed to adhere to during our move. While that is pretty bad, the worst of it is that it took ONE MONTH for us to receive our things and we were in a constant battle with them as they tried to charge us ridiculous storage fees we didn't agree to. The icing on the cake was that many of our things were damaged and missing. If anything you own is made of glass, count on it being broken when you receive it. No matter how much wrapping we did, they still found a way to break it. Our 47" HD flat screen tv which we wrapped up immaculately? Broken. The box looked like it had been to war.

In fact, all of our boxes looked as though they've been to war. What are they doing with our boxes? Throwing them at rocks? Whole pieces of furniture were missing. The only response we got from the contractor they hired? "FILE A CLAIM, IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!" Please do yourself a favor and get the full insurance with any mover you use. The $.60/pound is garbage. My $700 flat screen tv which I now have to replace will get us around $50 back when we file a claim. That's if we even get anywhere with their claims process as I have been told it's a nightmare getting anything through their claims process. They also broke a light fixture at my apt community and instead of reducing the price of the moving to accommodate for the fact that my building will charge me for it no matter what, all I hear is "FILE A CLAIM!"

This is not a reputable business. The guys they use were not in uniform (none spoke a lick of English) and the truck was an unmarked piece of junk. Be prepared to be charged $$$$ for crap service. Your stuff WILL go missing. Your stuff WILL be broken. They WILL rifle through your things (personal items I taped shut were opened). You WILL wait AT LEAST a month to deliver your stuff, not the 7-14 bs they try to sell.  They will be nice to you to get you to book their services but beware, their tone will change once they have your stuff hostage on their truck. It's their way or you won't be seeing your things ever again. Also, I now know that a reputable company won't require a deposit from you to book their services. These clowns did. Should have been a red flag. Again life lesson. In the end, we have a filed a federal claim against them. These people need to be put out of business.

Used company, did a great job

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 16, 2012

I am the wife of a former employee, one named in the original posting. While he did have his substance abuse problems, that is and was his personal disease to deal with and no one else's business. The author of the original posting, Phil, used to buy and sell drugs from each other, along with other employees. This is true. However, my husband never once stole customer info like cc#'s at all. If anyone did, it's most likely the author, whom I met quite a few times and isn't, or at least wasn't then, the most trustworthy of "men", and I use that term loosely. He was, at the time, a disgruntled emplyee, as Dana wrote, a little boy in big boy clothing. USA Express moved my family a few times even after my husband was let go, or rather, arrested, and they did a great job and were very careful with our belongings. I'm only writing this now to inform the USA team, if they're still there, that rg was shot and suffered a traumatic brain injury. As you know, he was a good guy with some issues that he was trying to get help for, and was shot while outside of his doctors office where he was getting help. It was a freak accident and the bullet was not intended for him. He was in a coma for roughly 5 months and is currently relearning things that we take for granted every day, such as walking, talking and remembering, which is remarkable given that the bullet went into his head, through his entire frontal lobe, and he's a survivor. If you know him at all, you know he is strong and a fighter. And the wonderful staff there at USA Express did know him fairly well. He was their top salesman after only a month and competed in a friendly manner w another employee for that spot every month. Whether first or second, he always came out in the top bunch. And he's still doing that, only this time he's learning to live again.

Response to above False Information

AUTHOR: Dana, USA Express Moving - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 06, 2010

I wish to take a moment to respond to the above correspondence written by a prior employee. It was our first thought that most people would be able to read between the lines and understand what the true picture was and that sometimes its best to let things go. However, given I have had some individuals recently ask for an explanation I thought it might be best to respond. As Im sure you are all well aware, theres always two sides to every story as it most certainly is in this case.

Mr. Pridgen was a disgruntled employee that had been released from his position at USA Express due to his own legal (most of which he has accused others of) and personal issues that dealt with substance abuse. The information he referred to and accused others of is inaccurate, spiteful, and simply false. It would be of interest to know that all those individuals mentioned are those that he worked for and with. This was his attempt to maliciously harm them both personally and financially by hindering their efforts in booking customers. Ultimately, it was his intention, as he put it, to do all he could to hurt the companies reputation because he was no longer welcome as an employee. We certainly were extremely disappointed in his actions! At no time have we ever mislead our customers nor, at any time, was any of our customers personal information ever in jeopardy. I can assure you that we are a professional organization and have always taken the appropriate security measures with all personal information and have treated our customers with the utmost respect they deserve. Believe it or not, Mr. Pridgen has on more than one occasion since this unfortunate posting, apologized for his actions and has even asked for his position back!

As for the undercover story that was done, please feel free to review for yourself and you will see that there absolutely was no problem. In fact, the final price for the relocation even came in less than the quote given and when contacted, the person we moved indicated that the movers did a good job and all went well. We provided a good service at the rate quoted.  As Im certain you have been informed, regrettably, the moving industry in itself does not have the best of reputation, so every Spring the local news media, throughout the country, will do a community interest story on the moving industry in hopes to educate the consumer on what to look out for and what to make sure your mover is doing for you. I would recommend that you visit the following link.  *Link to the "Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" booklet: www.protectyourmove.gov/consumer/awareness/rights/rights.htm

In closing, it has always been and will continue to be our goal at USA Express Moving & Storage to provide our customers with the very best service possible. Given this, we appreciate and welcome any feedback from our customers on the services provided. We have a great team of relocation consultants and well-trained company movers ready and able to assist you with all your moving needs. I am confident that you too will be one of the many very satisfied customers of USA Express Moving!!
