C'mon people---wake up and smell the reality here...JUst dont pay and dont get too worked up over this nonsense. We all know its a scam. The scary part is, I believe the telephone companies are quite aware-maybe not in cahoots, but they certainly are willing to turn a blind eye and not address the situation. Sure, they'll turn your complaint over to the fraud dept, where they act like its the first time they ever heard of this. Please, your feining ignorance of this scam only leads us to
the assumption that you know ALL about.

THink about it, your local phone stands to profit as well if people are intimidated into pating these bigus charges. All of this happened tome last fall, and I simply told all parties ( via reg mail) that I wasnt falling for it, was hip to their scam and I was not paying anybody anything for charges I did not accrue-end of story. These scammers are like zits-ignore them and they go away- But the real criminal here are the legitamate phone companies.

You want telecommunications fraud stopped? Simple, don't pay.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 25, 2005

Look what happens when you don't pay. The crooks at usbi have to do work to send the bills to your local phone company. Then, your phone company has to provide an agent for you to dispute the false charges. Usbi also has to provide a telephone line and employee to remove the fake charges.

Now, what does your phone company or usbi have to show for all this work?

If you refuse to pay, they don't get one red cent. In fact, it costs them money trying to bill you. Your local phone company has to do a lot of extra work too. All for nothing.

Like most things, fraud exists because it's profitable. Once the money ends, so will the fraud. You can guarantee nobody is going to pay money to make fake bills that nobody pays anyway.

When the money ends, then the fraud ends.

Conversely, as long as there's money to steal, a fraud will try to take it. Nothing you can do will stop them.

Hard to ignore I have contacted an Investigative Reporter in my area and hope that this will all be brought out in the open.

It's a little hard to ignore over $600.00 in charges for the last 5 months. I have contacted my phone company and because the last billing was over a certain amount of money, $321.00 to be exact, they said they had to request payment of 75% of the charges. When I called them again, like I have every month for the last 5 months they said that since it is so high they can not remove these charges (they have removed all others) and that they will open a claim, have an investigator call me and send this to their credit dept.

When I stated that it should not be sent to the credit dept, they just said, Don't worry, it won't be on your TRW, they said that I had to contact USBI. I had tried contacting USBI before and was never able to get thru, I finally got thru this time and I spoke to Agent 12ZxA, he wouldn't even give his name. He said that they would put a one time courtesy block on my phone for these types of calls, which were never made from my phone!!!!!and would remove the charges. That is yet to be seen. I have contacted an Investigative Reporter in my area and hope that this will all be brought out in the open.

It's Not That Simple.... I actually get angry at big hassles I have to go through because of a scam.

AUTHOR: Donna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 25, 2005

If only it were. You don't see the people posting here that are paying and there's enough of them to keep the scam going. The reason I won't "let it go" is that it was a huge hassle from start to finish and I still don't know if it's over. I actually get angry at big hassles I have to go through because of a scam. Plus, I also care about the innocent people that these scumbags are trying to scam and I don't want others to have to go through the hassle I went through and I certainly don't want them to get any money from those that pay it, for whatever reason.

I want them stopped. Many people want them stopped. The world would be a much worse place if no one stepped up to fight injustice. Rather than just get my own little part of it "solved", I want to stop these people so others don't have to go through the hassle. The scam part is bad enough but the verbal abuse makes it worse. No one deserves to be talked down to in a rude, insulting manner and be called a liar when the liar is the company that is scamming.
