Utah Home Builders Association - Taz Biesinger, etc. Revenue Generating Scam Covering for the Bad Behavior of Sloppy Shoddy Contractors West Jordan Utah

The Utah Home Builders Association (UHBA) claims to be a professional association of some of the best and brightest home builders in Utah.  The truth is this association does very little to ensure the quality, craftsmanship and integrity of its builder members.  In fact, for the public, it's definitely Buyer Beware! 

After the gloss wears off from the Parade of Homes, the buyer is sometimes left with a home that majored on cosmetics but is lacking in real quality. 

And what does Taz Biesinger do to investigate and hold accountable builders in his assocation who have workmanship complaints against them? Absolutely nothing as long as they are current on paying their dues.  Taz is an arrogant guy who thinks way too highly of himself and his association, and will go to great lengths to cover for the bad behavior of UHBA members.

And try going to DOPL for help with sloppy workmanship issues against a licensed builder.  Again, they will tell you--quite proudly--that they do nothing to investigate workmanship problems.  As long as these builders are paying their licensing fees, DOPL does not care how shoddy their work is.  Even when you bring up what is clearly unethical, even illegal, behavior of a licensed contractor (which does fall under the investigative powers of DOPL), they still do nothing.

Bottom line is Buyer Beware! Don't be fooled by the hype and gloss of the Parade of Homes dog and pony show.  And definitely don't think that using a UHBA member to build your home is anything special.  In my opinion, all it means is paying a hefty premium for the hype and gloss that you will never see again.  They are nothing more than good old boys who have paid their dues and joined a club.  At the very least, ask for the names and current contact information for several of the owners they have built for who are living in the home for more than a year. Time will tell all.
