I sent a check for $7.90 to uTravel on 11/20/03, for "processing, shipping, and handling" on a 'free vacation' and a 'privilege card international' one year membership. Had not heard anything back about it until the two items showed up recently (about a week ago) on seperate days, with aprox. a week between the two. About time! Well, the story does not end here. I have had nothing but bad dealings with uSight and any of their affiliate companies.

Most recently, they decided to hold my check until this month.. it went through the bank on 1/15/04. That's almost 3 months to the day. Needless to say, this was totally unexpected, and with my low income I'm usually running awfully close to empty on my account, so this trasaction screwed everything up. With this $7.90, and another transaction that cleared the following day for about $3, and all the bank fees I'm looking at a negative $37 balance. That's quite a bit for about $10 worth of spending.

More about my bad dealings with the company...

I attended a seminar in Bloomington, MN in November. I believe it was around the 15th or so. The speaker was Tim, I forget his last name. After a long talk about how wonderful all these products and services are, I decided to jump aboard this "GREAT DEAL" part of which was 5 cards I could resell for this privilege card booklet. I paid $50 for mine, and it included the 'right to resell' the kits. Sounded like a good deal. I figured the most effective way to be able to resell this is if I had it and used it myself, so I sent off the check and waited (and waited and waited).

At this same seminar I also purchased their web business package they were offering ($200) basically it was described as regularly being worth over $3600, so obviously $200 sounds good in that contrast. A portion of this was to grant me access to the 'distressed merchandise'. Now, at the seminar this was detailed as being regularly $500 for access to this. I come to find out that it is a list of weblinks ... TEN weblinks. So, according to uSight, this list is worth $500. All of these can be found using a search engine (google, yahoo, etc). An example, and I believe what was ranked highest on their list: www.overstock.com. I have seen many products that are for sale on this site listed on ebay, often with 0 bids. I would love to provide the complete list, but have misplaced it, I will update when I find it.

All in all, I'm glad I read the fine print and caught it in time to get my money back from uSight.. just wish they hadn't held my check for this travel stuff and screwed up my bank account. Now I sit and patiently wait for them to return my $200.
