My brother bought a computer from ShopNBC and the only reason I'm writing this is because (A) I was there and (B) he wanted and gave me permission to.

I told my brother not to buy this computer when he was watching those 2 salesmen on TV raving about how great it is. First I pointed out that there is no sound card (only integrated audio which makes for pretty half-baked sound), a sub-par video card by today's standards, tons of completely useless software, and a pretty bad printer. I also pointed out that all these 'gifts' they were giving away made me a little suspicious. [Gifts such as printer paper, a no-named brand DVD player and some other stuff.]

First he gets the computer, hooks it up and the keyboard is not recognized. He calls up tech support [for the first of many times] and gets a very rude individual who immediately says 'send it back.' So, he sends the keyboard back. A new keyboard comes in THREE weeks. He hooks it up and it works.

As soon as the system boots up to the desktop, a fatal error occurs. (The error when that blue screen comes up). [Second call to tech support]. This time we get someone who could barely speak English. Immediately he said Windows XP should be reinstalled. So, we reinstalled Windows XP. We load the computer and it seems to work for a few minutes but then we get the error message again!

So guess what we do? Yes, we call their wonderful support staff again. This time they said the hard drive is broken and needs replacing. They send a technician 2 days later to replace the hard drive. We load the computer and it works.

We decided to take a picture using the digital camera of us smiling for the first time after getting this computer, and guess what, the camera doesn't work! Our smiles quickly disappeared. We called V2 tech support and they said call Vivitar. We called Vivitar and they say call V2 Premier. We called V2 again and they couldn't care less about the broken camera. They basically said 'It's made by Vivitar so it's their fault.'

So what does my brother have now? A computer that could crash at any moment, a DOA camera and a $2000.00 bill. We're disputing this but it probably won't do any good from what other people here are saying.

DO NOT BUY ANY COMPUTER FROM V2 PREMIER OR SHOPNBC! Those 2 despicable individuals who host the show (Mike Davidson and Jim Peterson) should be ashamed of themselves for literally labeling garbage as a great computer system.
