These people are dishonest and misleading in their description of their rental property. Advertised on several websites as a "direct waterfront" rental and alternatively as a "carriage house" "directly on the ocean", "enjoy cocktails on your deck while enjoying the sunset", etc., etc., this property is an apartment over the garage to THEIR oceanfront mansion. Their mansion is on the water and one only has access to it if you buy their expensive services--lobsterbake or rent their canoes. The 5-stall garage is on the side of and in front of their house so the view from the balcony --not "deck" or "porch" as they advertise--is pine trees! It is a 250 foot walk through the woods on a rough trail to get down to the water where there is then a beautiful view.
When we complained to the first vacation website about the misleading description, the Hoffman's first said we never stayed there. When we then provided proof of stay to the website, they printed our review and the Hoffmans took their ad off. On another website, they wrote their own review in the so-called guestbook, disguised as renters! If their rental is so great why do they fake their own review? TV??? don't count on it....it plays VHS only---no TV hook-up. Herbal, spa bath??? Don't count on it--Irish Spring Soap!!!

This weird guy talking sillyness like saying this place is not direct water is the oddest thing I have EVER read...must have been written by some x boyfriend or something!?? Notice later in his write up he changes his story and says it IS on the water...Anyway-this place I just read was voted as the nicest in the entire area and I can see why-its BEAUTIFUL-surrounded by water EVERYWHERE-felt like I was on a boat and what rental have you ever heard of that has such incredible things like Viking appliances and oriental carpeting...well this one does -it was pure heaven on earth...homemade soaps ( what does this guy mean Irish Spring-he must be thinking of another rental), luscious bedding, huge beds, terrific professionally done decor, lovely art..be sure to stay here-it will be a vacation of a lifetime as the ad says-whoever wrote that review is obviously a real jerk with some sort of vendetta..pathetic world to see such anger out there. Makes me sad.
