Purchased a pair of Recliners June 10 2012, and picked up ourselves.  March 2013 seat seam is coming apart  on chair, chair is up  landing with very little use and falling apart, called Value city in March and they said to bring in and their repairman would fix because we were within 1 year Warranty, due to weather our age(seniors) have not been been able to take back, so called Value City 6/7/13 within Warranty and asked if they could pick up and was reminded on our receipt if we pick up and a problem we have to bringback, at time of pickup had help can't find help to take back, offered to pay, no way and then was told your warranty doesnt cover seams anyway, what the heck is the warranty for, and they don't carry that chair anymore this is ridculous, they were not totally expensive but were advertised at 599 each on sale for 299 each, so I now have 600 dollars worth of chairs one with a rip and have to replace both to look right in room.  This company is very large and some of the furniture is  cheap but these looked halfway diecent and due to use on a landing with very little use just when guest here thought they would be okay, also so I get chair back to them, and then they are going to tell me seam is not covered when I called in March and was told to bring in on a Friday when repairman is there,Unacceptable Don't buy from them they prey on people with poor quality furniture!

1. As to seams not being covered, was told on first phone call by salesman that sold us the chairs to  bring it in and they would fix it, Fridays best day to be exact so expected them to be true to their word

2. as to using senior as excuse I have earned my years and title and am proud of it but also am disabled are you going t tell me I am using this too, Used that to explain why we cannot get the chair there it is upstairs on a loft that only guests go up there, my husband and I live on the flirst floor, so chair has not been sat in but maybe 2 or 3 times a month,

3. as to fat person remark  the person who has used that chair is 140lb 6 foot male, thin as a rail and that is only person that has sat in it. Are you saying if fat you can't warrant furniture that is a load of you know what.

4.Also I offered to pay to have it picked up that is not using senior as an excuse especially since they told me about receipt I signed so I did not argue, as to warranty, the furniture store is an agent of that company representing their furniture, and they usually take care of the warranties, we do not even know who made the chair, receipt had a sku number value city uses for their manufacturers. I suspect who wrote this rebuttal is an employee of the store and could even be the person that was so nasty to me this am when I called them to get help. I am going to call the regional manager on Monday and have a long discussion, yes I am partly at fault for not reading the small print better, but have never never had trouble or ever had a chair come apart in 40 years of buying funriture.

5 May I also add I am very glad I am not related to you and your attiude about seniors, it is repulsive.

Ok so your warrenty DOESNT cover them seams. How exactly is this a ripoff report? You are the consumer, you have a duty to understand exactly what the warrenty you purchased covers. If a tech said they would deal with your issue, he was prolly just trying to be nice and do it on the side. But if your report is ANY indication, you should be ashamed of yourself useing your age as either an excuse or a sheild to skirt your responsabilities. I mean really, just because you are older, doesnt mean you are incapable of understanding your warrenty. It also doesnt mean your some dottering idiot. Stop useing your age as some form of defense. You are wiser then most use that wisdom to your advantage. Since you only have a few days left to get this situation taken care of, I would suggest that you try the manufacture warrenty. This SOUNDS like a manufacture warrenty issue. Now unless you have heavy ppl sitting in it, they should be able to fix your problem. If not, there are many reputable apolstery shops that would do a cushion and reseaming for not a lot of cash. Unfortunatly, the store has attempted to do thier part. You cannot expect them to go out of thier way to assist you since your purchase is almost a year old. Most places give you 30 days to resolve any issues, then after that its on the warrenty if you purchased one.

You have to remember, EVERYONE has a sob story. If you expect a business to give way and give ppl thier way simply because your elderly, then they wouldnt be in business anymore. Its called Capitalism, not Charity.
