I noticed on June 17th, 2008, when looking a my bank charges online there were two charges for $19.95, one was Value Plus and the other was for HomePlay. Since they were in the stages of pre-authorized, I thought my husband ordered parts for something and didn't think much of it. In August, I saw the charges for the same amounts again, and this time I asked him, he said he didn't order anything from either one of these places. I then decided to go on-line and put in one or both of these names and low and behold all sorts of information came up on sites I could go to where this has happened to other people, there were also phone numbers for both these companies. I phoned the one company, which is also the other company, and began explaining that I had never authorized these charges and what were they for, they replied for monthly membership to these businesses. Of course then I lost my patience, and demanded they cancel this membership, because I had never authorized them for the memberships in the first place, the girl began to argue with me that I had given authorization for this, otherwise they would not be charging my credit card. I then demanded to speak with a supervisor. After approximately 5 minutes a supervisor got on the line, and told me they would have to send me forms to fill out, but she would cancel this monthly membership. I asked what this membership was for - and she declined to give me any answers. I proceeded to tell her that I checked by on my bank statements, and they had charged me $19.95 x 2 for each of these companies in the months of June, Jully and August, and I wanted all the money refunded to me. She told me that they could not do this over the phone, and that they are sending me forms to fill out and send back to them.

I received the forms in the mail just a few days ago, and my phone conversation with her was at the very beginning of September. I filled out both the forms, made copies and put them in the mail today. The forms basically ask for the requested refund amount, the reason I am requesting the refund. Once they get the information back from me, they will review the matter and process my request accordingly. Whether I will get a refund is another story - but I will give it a month, and see what happens. If I don't receive a check or any correspondence by then, I will call them.
