I carefully searched the internet for a reputable blog designer and asked around on WAHM forums, Facebook, and other mom bloggers. I was referred to Vanessa Pilapil of Paperback Designs. Vanessa came highly recommended and had designed several blogs that I visit on a regular basis.
After some email correspondence with Vanessa, I chose the blog design package that best suited my needs, and made a rather sizable deposit so that she could start the work. This was in early March. I was put on the schedule to have my design completed by the end of March.
Time went by and I did not hear anything and so I began a series of repeated inquiries about when the design would be done. I received excuses but never my blog design, and most upsetting, I did not receive my money back.
Vanessa Pilapil kept my money and does not respond to emails. Please watch out for this person and don't get taken!

I have worked with Vanessa for design of my blog (www.copperbrickroad.com) and we are currently working on a new project. I couldn't have asked for a more professional, hard working designer. She was/is very attentive to my needs and shared the vision that I had for my blog.
It disappoints me greatly that this woman would report Vanessa on so many medias over $71 that she claims was stolen. The record show that the money WAS refunded. Vanessa's mother had just passed away. Thus, putting a delay in her work. Vanessa only accepts payment via Paypal. If there was a dispute, it could've been filed with Paypal and taken care of. However, Vanessa did refund her money back.
There was no reason to slander Vanessa like this. I will continue to work with Vanessa because she does great work. It is just sad that there are people out there who don't have the human emotion to understand heartbreaking situations like Vanessa has gone through. Vanessa tried to make it right, but I guess it wasn't good enough. I think this is truly hypocritical because this lady filing the complaint blogs about selling on Ebay. I'm willing to bet that if someone left her negative feedback on Ebay accusing her of taking their money without discussing an effective way of handling the dispute, she would be upset that her feedback was tarnished.
I support Vanessa from Paperback Designs 100% and would recommend her to friends and family!

Vanessa worked on my blog several months ago and was very professional and kind. She's a young girl working hard and going to school, the type of person I'd like to support with my business. I'm not sure what happened to the woman who filed this report but for me Vanessa did a great job. Vanessa wrote a blog response to this accusation you may want to read before jumping to conclusions on her and her business.
