JOB DESCRIPTION:

VS is seeking a highly creative, motivated and enthusiastic self-starter and team worker to assist with the execution of special events and marketing programs for a wide variety of clients in the fashion, nightlife, and entertainment industries. VS owns a network of web properties geared towards entertainment, lifestyle, and nightlife. We are looking for someone to
be there during the beginning of our launch of these websites. Ideal candidate must have a college degree in a related field (PR, Communications or Marketing), and exceptional writing/verbal communications skills. Must be a multi-tasker and have the ability to work events at night. Not only must you enjoy going out often, but you must be very comfortable working in Nightlife and inviting friends to parties. This position requires a combination of marketing and public relations skills. This is a lifestyle career opportunity; there is no selling involved.

It is a scam for an event manager position. The first step is to apply for the job via the velvetsky website. Once that is done, you then are contacted via email and instructed to pick a date via the company's website.
Someone calls to confirm, by the name of Staci Perkins. Y
ou come in for a group interview, once that ends, you right then and there have your one on one time with her where she picks a venue for you and tells you to check your email for the information (i.e. venue, address, guestlist, tips for having a good turnout). You are asked to send her a guestlist as it gets closer to the venue date.
Needless to say , she never showed up and once i contacted her via email she barely apologized and informed me that she cannot be at every party, even though she picked the date, place, and time this would all be taking place.
She was very unprofessional, neglected to offer a plan B or next step since she missed the event altogether. I replied back asking her what was the next step. She responeded days later saying that they would not be going ahead with the next step, even though she wasnt apart of the first step. I then replied back asking , how this decision was made, and if I could get a hold of her boss, and to this day I am still awaiting a response.
This has scam written all over it, I see 10-15 posts on craigslist from the same person/co. everyday not to mention all the other job seeking websites.
