Have just read on this site other individual's complains about this VIADDRESS company that is found in the ELKHART County of INDIANA in the USA.

I live in France. Bought two items from amazon.com and had them posted to an address that was created on my behalf by viaddress. The two have been delivered by USPS on 22 January 2011. Nothing has been updated on viaddress website. Upon trying to call them, I got an answering machine. Upon opening a HelpDesk case, I got nothing at all. Upon sending them emails I got absolutely no reply at all.

According to some other complaint that has been filed on this website, Mr Ray Caples, Detective at the Elkhart County Sheriff Department would be the person that is "dealing" with the viaddress complaints.

I took the liberty of contacting this detective too, at: rcaples@elkhartcountysheriff.com but for whatever reason, my email has returned with a status of "undelivered - delivery timed out". I have logged a complaint with bbb.org and have informed everyone I could at eBay, PayPal, amazon and other online sellers.

My frustration is growing, as much as everyone else's on the Internet and on the varios websites that contain more and more postings about these thiefs.

I do feel that the ELKHART Sheriff Office should be dealing with these gangsters as soon as possible and that their website must be shut-down asap.

How does one send electronic attachments via a landline?

Firstly, there are some hours of time difference between us (France to Indiana, USA) and phone isn't the most convenient, for that reason. Secondly, there are a number of long tracking numbers which needed to be communicated (probably still best in writing). And thirdly... how would one transmit attachments that have been generated electronically, over the phone? I needed to send screen dumps, tracking numbers and details, dates, amounts, etc. Phone?

Besides, have you noticed that the Detective has not given me his phone number? Obviously, for the reasons above (and others too) the Sheriff's office prefers that communication is held via emails.

I have sent a few more [emails] that have not (yet?) returned, but for which I have not seenreceipts either, so... time should tell [pretty soon] whether these have worked or not. I hope they go through.

It is quite possible that their email server refuses foreign emails with attachments?!

A new and interesting development has just occured! I have just received the following reply from the BBB, in regards with my complaint:

I have forwarded this email to Detective Ray Caples too, via email :)

I do hope he sees it, because this time it is clear that VIAddress is doing the "wrong thing" with its clients, as well as with the BBB, or are they ineed "no longer in business"? If so, it would be good to shut down their website, asap!

By the way, I have given the BBB the address and phone number which I have cut and paste from the viaddress.com website!

Pick up the phone and give them a call like back in the old days. There are many reasons that EMail may have problems between France and Indiana.

Dear Detective Ray Caples,

I have tried just now to email (yet) again to your exact email address.

The first two emails have returned with thefollowing message:

"This is the mail system at host mwinf5d22.orange.fr.
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients.



The mail system

<rcaples@elkhartcountysheriff.com>: delivery to host elkhartcountysheriff.com[failed] timed out"

and the same for the other email address that appears on your web-site, that is: 'twendzonka@elkhartcountysheriff.com'

I do email you from France, but have had no issues sending emails all over the world until this ones. Perhaps it is your departement that might be blocking certain foreign sources, for whatever reason?

I obviously do have a complaint against VIAddress and I have attempted to email you twice (unsuccessfully) the full details of my complaint. I also do notice that there are many others here that complain about the (no) service of VIAddress.

I guess the main question that we are all having hereis pretty simple:

"WHY are they avoiding to talk to any of us or to reply to any of our emails?"

I think it would be a great start if we get an answer to that. The excuse of moving to another site has already been used. What now? Perhaps if we get an answer to this one then we could ask some further questions of them. As it stands we are pretty much stuck trying to talk to the wall!

I am a detective with the Elkhart County Sheriff Department and have been investigating VIAddress for two months. I have no explaination why an email would return undeliverable, however, it could have to do with the email originating from outside the United States. Make sure you have the entire email correct prior to sending.
