Village Park Apartments Underhanded and shady practices from the management of Village Park Apartments Orem, Utah

After having moved out of the Village Park Apartments in 2006, I recently received a phone call from a collection agency claiming that I owe 275.00 for unpaid carpet cleaning and utility bills.

Knowing that the Management of the Village Park Apartments have acted in highly underhanded ways to many of the residents living there at the time of my residency, my wife and I decided to keep all of our receipts for these many years just in case something like this should turn up.

In our receipts was the walk-through report from the manager of the apartments at that time showing that the carpet was clean at the time of our moving, plus, the last bill received by the Village Park Apartments showing that nothing was owed at the time of my moving out.

I have contacted my lawyer to clear up the problem. AGAIN. After not having to contact him about this apartment complex in the 3 plus years since I moved out.

During my stay there I was witness to many underhanded dealings by the managers of the apartments towards the tenants. Every month new rules would be posted on the tenants doors, not previously in the contract, with a fine imposed for having broken said rules. Many times this same standard was applied to me but, unlike most persons living there, I had pre-paid legal to resolve many of my issues.

My recommendation to ANYONE thinking of moving into an apartment would be wise to avoid the Village Park Apartments AT ALL COSTS. Unless you decide to move in pre-armed with an attorney to help you fight your many battles that you will have with this business.
