I have been trying to buy a motorhome from Vinton Auto Consignment and Sales for over a week now.  They are supposedly in Nashville, TN, I live near Dallas, TX.  The only way I could contact them was via email thru a Craigslist ad.  They have a very professional appearing website, but guess what -- the only working phone number is 855-624-3291 and it is never answered live, only a message asking you to contact them via email or chat.  I repetedly asked to talk to a live person, but no, they don't do live conversations, they are always hiding behind email and chat.

They wanted me to wire them $19500 online to buy the motorhome, but they refused to talk to me live.  I have until 7 pm tomorrow (May 3, 2017) to pay them for the motorhome per a contract agreement they sent me.  So I gave them the ultimate benefit of the doubt, and told them (via chat of course!) I would fly in tomorrow and pay cash for it -- all I need is their address and I'll see them at lunch.

That created all kinds of panic with them, they didn't know how to reply to that.  The bottom line is they can't do a live sale in person, they want me to wire them the money, trust them, and then when the wire payment has cleared, they will delivery the motorhome to me.   No thanks, what a load of poop!

The motorhome they claimed to be selling is a 1988 Airstream 345 with 37,000 miles on it.  VIN # is 1GBKP37W8K3303534.  They claim the unit only has 37,000 miles on it.  A motorhome does exist with this VIN number, but it has 137,000 miles on it according to Carfax.

Bottomline for me, they were dishonest in misrepresenting the condition of the motorhome, they wanted me to pay for it without ever talking with me about it in person, or without me ever seeing it before I owned it.  Seriously, I doubt they even have such a motorhome.

Rules of the road on buying online -- never buy something without seing it, never trust someone who only wants to make a deal with you online, and refuses to talk to you in person.

In my experience Vinton Auto and Consignment Sales is BAD NEWS!!  Stay away from them!!
