We purchased our Otto in 2006, for $2000.00. We have owned shepherds for 30 years as family pets, and did our research before deciding on Vom Kammer to get our next family member..
We assumed we were getting a healthy, top quality shepherd, but boy were we wrong. We immediately fell in love with Otto, and he fit right in our family, and got along so amazingly with the 2 chihuahuas and many cats in our home. He was just as sweet as could be.
We first noticed Otto having seizures when he was just 3 months old. When the vet told us, after bloodwork and exams, that he was probably epileptic, we contacted Roberta. Not to return him, we loved him very much, we were concerned and wanted to know more about his medical history.
Roberta denied ever seeing ANY of her dogs have 'epileptic seizures' or any other health issues.
Ottos mother died when she was just 7 years old.
Otto lived a very happy life full of love, but it was also filled with seizures that would sneak up without warning, and cause our family much anxiety and heartache not knowing if he was going to make it through the seizure. We thought he was going to die, many times.
Otto died 2 days ago, at the age of 8, of a seizure that he couldn't recover from.
He was our loyal and loving best friend. He will be very much missed in this home.
I am writing Otto's story to let everyone know the truth. Please DO NOT purchase dogs from BACKYARD BREEDERS
They are the most morally corrupt, unethical, inhumane form of scam artists
Please consider adopting from local shelters, the SPCA, Saratoga County animal shelter, HOPE, ADK save-a-stray
Rest in peace to our bestfriend.
And Roberta, I pray that you will never ever breed dogs again.

Died at 8 years old, had Sundance since he was eight weeks old, Pay 2500 for Logan make dog after six months of research and we loved our dog so much two years ago we found out that he had both hip and elbow dysplasia. BUTTT We spent the money on medication and doctor visits because of our love for him then on top of that he was very very aggressive with other people but like a little kid with us he was the best dog he also had this weird allergy all of his life we try different medications and he would always itch there were more things but we love them two weeks ago we noticed he didn't feel too good so we brought him to the vet again for the 50th time in eight years and The doctor thought it was a bad infection so A week ago he starts breathing heavy for two days this is during the time we brought him to the doctor so we figured we saw the doctor he's on his meds he just not feeling well second night got worse I stayed up all night listening to them huff and puff it was about 7 AM on a Saturday and my fiancé said he'll bring him in at 9 AM that morning but at 7:30 AM he didn't sound right I put on the light walked over to him and he just looked at me blood came running out of his nose and then fell into my arms I felt his last five heartbeats he was so big we couldn't even lift him up but he was that at that point all of this from purchasing our dog from Vom jammer shepherds. We were distraught so I had a legal autopsy done for $1400 and it was his heart they said it just gave out and he had heart disease I am so mad at Roberta and her husband most of my family is in law-enforcement and they are upset too so we are weighing our options now. But your dog looked just liked mine it's so sad Our two dogs sleeping and the other was the boss weighing 8 lbs ha IMG_0550.JPG
