I purchased a made for Walmart brand TV, ILO, for $217.00, model# CR272IL8 and serial# V28713626 a year and a month ago on September 27, 2007 from Walmart in Watchung, NJ. When I got it home and set it up, there were vertical lines before the picture came up and there were splotches of color, yellow on one side and green on the other. It was more noticeable on black and white programs, but I figured this was because this was a new TV and needed time to adjust. On October 24, 2008, it blacked out and never came back on. It had blacked out several weeks before a years time was up, but I thought I accidentally pushed the timer button. I could see this happening if the TV were several years old. I took it back to Walmart on October 27, 2008. The manager stated nothing could be done because I was 1 year out of my warranty and to call the manufacturer. I did and was told that it may be more to repair than the TV cost, and that my problem seems like an electrical problem within the TV. It sounds as if the manufacturer knows that these TV's are made to malfunction within a year then they claim it's nothing they can do, but they have your money. I purchased this TV at the suggestion of one of Walmart's employees for my children and now they are without a TV.

I will not be a customer of Walmart's anymore and I will be telling friends and relatives not to shop at any Walmart anymore, because I see Walmart is into ripping off the customer.

I want a refund. I would've settled for an exchange for a different TV on October 27, 2008, the day I took it back, but after all of this inconvenience, I just want my money back, because I believe Walmart knows ILO TVs are defective.

Yes, I can understand the frustration of buying a tv and then being upset once it breaks, but I'm not sure why you are blaming wal-mart. Its not their fault, they didn't hold a gun to your head and force you to buy that brand of tv. I mean you payed 217 dollars and it worked for a year. I would say you got your money out of it. But what you should have done, which it seems that your ignorance didn't let you do was to do research before buying a tv, look at the different brands and read reviews on them. You get what you pay for, and its not Wal-Marts fault that you bought a cheap TV at all. Yes that TV is crap to begin with, but if you would have done research you would have known that, but what more can you expect...Just buy a new tv and your good, next time be more aware of the warranty and when it ends before you start complaining...
