A few weeks ago I had purchased 4 All You magazines. For those who do not know, the All You magazine is put out by Wal-Mart. Today I visited the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Bartlett, TN to use 4 coupons for free mascara from the All You magazine. These coupons even have the Wal-Mart logo on them and state "only at Wal-Mart."

When trying to use the coupons my incredibly rude cashier walks off and gets the cashier manager. She states that I cannot use all 4 coupons because it says "one per purchase." I am an avid coupon user, and all other avid coupon users know that "one per purchase" means "one per item". For instance, I buy 4 mascaras, I am purchasing 4 mascaras. The coupons did not say "one per transaction."

After telling her that I am making 4 purchases, she refused to do it. This is when the cashier's manager and the cashiers started yelling what I was trying to do to the other cashiers and laughing. They even told a Frito-Lay delivery man that was standing around and they all started laughing at me.

I tried to talk with the Store Manager, but I was told she was at a meeting and they don't know when she will be back. I then talked with the Assistant Store Manager, Demetrius and she told me she will not accept them because it is one per purchase. I told her my sister used 4 last night and she went to check the coupons. She did indeed find 4 of the same coupons, but told me they came from other customers, or basically, that I am lying. I then asked for a coupon policy and she told me no.

When I asked if I could do 4 separate transactions and get the mascaras she told me the computer wouldn't accept them. This is a blatant lie. I have called corporate and I am still waiting to hear back. I would let it go if I was in the wrong, but what they did to me was very unprofessional and humiliating. They laughed at me in front of other customers and were very, very rude.

Why is the assistant store manager not even trained in the coupon policy? How can they not understand that "one per purchase" means "one per item" not "one per transaction"?

Their treatment of me was disgusting. They were 100% wrong in what they thought and the way they handled the situation.

must not be couponers Nancy and Robert...ugh...i guess people dont know how to read or comprehend what they're reading....

one per purchase means one coupon per item...if they want to dispute that then just purchase one at a time....

buy one then go back to the end of the line 3 more times  :)

I found it best to print out all the coupon policies to the stores that you frequent...:) and have those in your purse or coupon book :) sorry u went through that

What part of ONE PER CUSTOMER are you having problems with?

It seems pretty simple to me. It said ONE, and you attempted to use FOUR.

I was a cashier for six years they should have taken your coupons and sent you on your way. all of them should be coached or fired for their extremely poor customer service. However, I am sorry to say that bad employees seem to be the type wal-mart keeps around.

I used to work for wally world. I was a cashier, and loved/love my job. Unfortunatly, some cashiers don't feel that way. Seems like you got one of those, and an extremely unprofessional CSM, and there isn't enough space for me to list how many of them there are. However, they are also correct. It has to be made in four seperate purchases. Most cashiers, like me, really don't want to put you throught the hassle of having to go through those obsene lines more than once, or holding up our own line. I would've scanned it, took the coupons, and sent you on your way. On the other hand, I want you to have the best experience I can provide in my line, and hopefully, god willing, you'll be back again, and I'll keep my job a while longer, especially in this economy. The CSM and cashier really dogged you out, and I'm sorry about that.
