It seems Heber/Wasatch County/Town of Charles to be specific has similar issues as in Helper, Utah/Suzanne Withers.

It is now crystal clear that Wasatch County/Town of Charleston/Midway/Heber City run their own agenda's. I will only speak on my behalf concerning my issue with Charleston.

It has become a nighmare through personal experience that there is a huge potential for monumental Property Tax Fee imposed on residents in Wasatch County. Perhaps Fraud!

In my case, property that had been in my name since 1996, 2 separate parcels. One parcel on the record for 1.07 acre & the other for 1.38 acres.

It became apparent that Charleston Town, near Deer Creek Reservoir, is stubbornly refusing to honor a letter, which I received from Charleston Town Office in 2009, stating the 1.38 acre size parcel was a lot of record & in fact a buildable lot.

After researching all records, by myself & a reputable title company in Heber City, having the lot surveyed, it was in fact .87 of an acre.

None the less, according to title companies, being that Charleston Town Did in Fact draft that letter & the letter was recorded at the county recorder's office, Charleston cannot and should not refuse to honor that letter.

I have sought the assistance of attorney's one through my divorce and one specifically for a case I had to clear up regarding the lot specifically.

Attorney Tom Seiler, in Orem, contacted the Town of Charleston in effort to try to seek a compromise with them. However, they strongly refused to honor the letter & all the requirements I have met when we all thought it was 1.38 acre.

The title company in Heber City has also stated, Charleston Town Must honor that letter.

Questions of the Day are:

1. How many lot/parcels in Wasatch County are being taxed inappropriately? Mine was wrongfully taxed for 20+yrs! For an extra .87 of an acre! Did I mention for 20+yrs??

2. Where is that money going? Whose pockets are being filled?

3. How is the Town of Charleston using it? Not to upkeep roads in Charleston.....

4. How many millions would this account for in Wasatch County and where is it going?

It seems this to be another case of the Good Old Boy Club - they stand in a closed circle & scratch each other's backs, with hands in & out of the other's pockets.

Midway has had a similar case of the same type of issues. Ken Patey & his family were run out of town due to him standing up for what was right. His wife and children were cast out, made fun at their schools & harrassed. My only goal here is for the Town of Charleston to honor the letter recorded of which they drafted as being true. Again, I have completed all of their requirements, percolation test, utilities info and costs associated, survey, etc, & they still refused.

Also, perhaps, all of Wasatch County needs a new surveying in order to make sure all residents are being taxed correctly!
