We Haul International is a national company based in Florida. They play middle man when you need to hire movers. They sub contract a local moving company to haul your belongings for you. 

My mom (who lives in Oregon) enlisted their help when she wanted to ship me furniture to build up my home (I live in Texas). Included in the furniture are pieces that have been in my family for multiple generations. 

The moving company they hired to actually haul the items picked up the furniture on September 8, 2009. The driver told my mom he would arrive at my house (in Houston, Texas) within 2 weeks (no more than that, he promised). September 22, I called We Haul International to see if they could get in touch with the driver as I had not yet heard from him and wanted to know an estimated arrival date so I could make arrangements to be around. He should have been here by then and I was worried. Their response "we can't get ahold of them, sorry."

September 23rd I called again, they gave me the company's supposed number and told me to try calling for myself. 

September 24th I called We Haul again, spoke to Nadeen (the only competent person there) and she tracked down a number that worked, tells me the driver is in the hospital, truck is in the shop, it won't leave Oregon until 2-3 weeks from now (we're already past the deadline the driver gave my mom). This is unacceptable, someone should have notified us at the first indication of a problem or a delay. NO ONE can tell me where my things are, if they are okay, etc. 

September 25th a "supervisor" calls me (after 3 requests to speak with one) who is rude, condescending and offers less information than I got the day before. Proceeds to tell me how this is somehow my fault for not inquiring about the whereabouts of my things sooner and that there is nothing he, or his company can do for me. In his mind it is the sub contractor's responsibility (even though my contract is with We Haul International, not their subcontractor). 

I still don't know where my belongings are, or when (IF) they will ever get here. I have yet to speak to someone who will acknowledge a problem or do anything to try to fix it. As for the subcontracted moving company? It's a cell phone number that doesn't accept voicemails.
