Webex IT Solutions Complaint

The incident:  In July of 2017,  I was having issues with my computer.  I received pop-up alerts that there was something wrong with my computer,  and my information would be compromised if I did not take action.  I had not renewed my computer support for a year,  so I called the number,  at the bottom of the screen.  I signed up for one year support and security.  I have a receipt for $199.99. It is listed under Webex IT Solutions,  Addressed at 255,  Lucas Lane #7,  Voorhees,  New Jersey 08043, Order No. 1499878754,  Case# : MS859625748535.  The Support #: 1-800-508-1832 was listed at,  EXT 1080.  I called up a couple times to have them clean and fix minor issues with my laptop, without any incident.

November,  22nd  2017 is when the major problems started to occur.  My computer was starting to crash.  I called Webex IT Solutions.  They told me my computer was hacked.  They connected me to a tech in a different department.  Their other phone number, I was using at that point, was 805-284-9434.

He told me that I needed to switch my IP address to fix the situation.  I was told if I did not do anything I could get charged with cyber crimes,  pay a large fine,  or end up in jail.  I pannicked.  He said that he would have to contact IC3 to see if I could get approved to switch my IP address.  I was told I was approved.  I was told I needed to pay $1,000.  He said I would be reimbursed,  because I was insured through Webex IT Solutions.  I was told that because my computer was hacked,  I would have to pay in Wallmart or I Tune gift cards.

Something kept happening,  I would have to pay more and more software and tech fees, and taxes.  I was told if I did not pay everythimg,  and make it come out even,  I would not get my money reimbursed.

They appeared to be fixing my computer.  It seemed fixed when they were done. the tech even helped me install a Windows 10 disk,  I bought from Best Buy.  I paid everything.  I did my last installment of $5,500.00 on December 14th, 2017.  My total reimbursement was to be $18,650.00 (excluding the comission fee).

I was sent an email from the reimbursement manager. It had a documented breakdown of all the fees I was charged. It had a copy of the Bank of America check that was supposed to be delivered to me,  by courier.  The address on the check was Microsoft Crop, 5000 148th Ave. NE Redmond, WA, USA.  The signature of the reimbursement manager was on it.  I was given a tracking number for it.  It was supposed to be delivered on December 20th.  It did not arrive.

After so many phone calls  I was told It was cashed,  and they think the tech did it,  because he stopped showing up for work after I paid the last installment.  I was told by the Supervisor that their tech pocketed the last $5,500.00 I paid,  and that he made a deal with a courier, to steal my check.

I was told that I should get that 5,500.00 back in two to six moths through their insurance.  In the mean time,  since the tech did not register my gift cards in the account,  I had to purchase and register another $5,500.00 worth of gift cards.  I did.  He was supposed to have my money go directly into my account on Friday, December 29th.  Once I repaid the $5,500.

I talked to the supervisor a little while later,  and he tells me,  that any amount that I want to have reimbursed has to be matched in my bank account,  because the tech and the courier committed a fraud under my name.  I was told  that I was to leave the money in my account,  and that another tech would help me verify that the account the money was being reimbursed to was my account.  I was told that it would go out of my account,  that it would go into another account to be verified.  The money would be checked,  and come back into my account with the reimbursement.  I was told it would take eight business days from the time the money was registered.  I was told the money would be in my account February 5th.  It was delayed. Then I was told that I would see the money in my bank account by Thursday,  February the 8th.

Thursday afternoon it was not in there. I called.  I was told that the supervisor was not in,  and that he would call me the next morning.  I received no call.  The money did not come in,  I kept calling they would not answer.  I called the original phone number from Webex IT Solutions.  It was disconnected.  I went to the Webex IT Solutions email.  It was dismantled.  I emailed the reimbursement manager.  I have not received a response. I typed in Webex IT Solutions scam.  I found a report on this sight describing what happened to me,  with the same initial address and phone number.  This has not only damaged me financially,  it has put a srtain on my marraige, and caused months worth of mental anguish, and anxiety.  Justice needs to be done,  so they do not do this to anyone else.

If anyone has any information,  I would love to compare notes.

           Signed,
