Wells Fargo Bank has witheld my cash deposit for 4 days and allowed other merchants to post to my account, then they tried charging me overdraft fees.  I have documentation to prove that they have altered dates and payment amounts. Wells Fargo has opened accounts that I did not authorize and I had no knowledge of.  Took it upon themselfs to set bill payments olny to there credit cards through my checking account.  They have set up auto pay out of my checking accounts that I did not authorize then overdrafted my account and charged me a overdraft fee, olny after they back dated there auto payment (which I have documentation to prove it).

To top off the whole fraudulent schemes they have been pulling with the whole witholding cash deposit and charging overdraft fees I go into the bank to get them reversed, the bank employee appoligizes repeatedly and says to me "On behalf of Wells Fargo we would like to appoligize and offer you a lower interest rate loan for all the trouble we caused you, we can give you a $3,000 dollar loan at 18.99 APR at $60.00 a month payment to show how sorry we are for overdrafting you. I asked her how she knew I had credit card payments and she stated that she took it upon herself to review my account information.  Later she calls and states that i am approved and that I should see it in my bank account 1-2 days.

I asked when i should come in to sign the paperwork and she said there was no need to that she would take care of it.  In 2 days I see the loan but its not deposited in my account. I thought nothing of it and I went online and paid off all my credit cards. A month later I find out its a Credit Line with different terms that I did not agree to. Now I am in the process of suing them.   I have never had any problems with Wells Fargo Bank until recently and I have been banking with them for many years.  I dont know what happen there banking and what has made them scandalist but they truely need to find out what employee is embezzeling the money and terminate that person or persons. Holds on cash deposits...

AUTHOR: Striderq - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 28, 2015

There only two reasons I can see for a "hold" on a cash deposit.

#1: If it's made after cutoff time on Friday, it would be considered Monday's business (if Monday is not a holiday). So deposited Friday, "held" Friday, Saturday, Sunday and available for Monday's tranactions.

#2: If done through an ATM (espesially a non-WF ATM) and the amount deposited was large. There would be an immediate credit of $100 but the remainder would not credit until the deposit had been verified, that is the ATM serviced and the deposit and amount verified to be correct.

It is possible/probable that when your credit card application was processed, automatic payments were authorized (either minimum due or total payoff). If so then the bank would process these payments without further notification to you.

I find it very difficult to believe that an employee offered the apology as you listed it. I could see something along the line of "I'm sorry to hear about the overdrafts. Would you be interested in this loan to prevent future overdrafts?"

And, no I don't work for the bank so please don't try to claim I do.
