West Point Relocation - All Points Van Lines Did not disclose that West Point was not registered in Hawaii, is solely a broker for All POints (rated "D" with BBB); misdelivered goods, shipment is a TOTAL LOSS and would not repond to calls Honolulu, HI And Pacoima, California

In May of 2006, we received an estimate for moving household goods from West Point Relocation, Inc. of Barbers Point, Honolulu, Hawaii. When the mover arrived, they started moving goods into an unmarked truck and halfway through, they changed the price and fees AND the name of the mover to All Points Van Lines, Inc. of Pacoima, CA. West Point was not listed with the BBB when we did our research, but All Points had a D rating with BBB; had we known that, we would never have agreed to go with West Point (aka All Points). We believe that this constitutes misrepresentation and is intended to mislead the consumer and/or defraud the consumer.

The estimate and packaging costs were changed and increased DURING the move into the truck (which I believe is in violation of FMCSA Federal law). The movers packed all items into boxes and charged us for supplies.

The shipment was sent to California, for storage there, before transshipment to Colorado. However, the mover prematurely moved goods to the destination in error BEFORE we were in our home (due to convenience as they said they had a driver going that way anyway). Rather than pay to unload and store our goods for until our requested delivery date, they TRANSSHIPPED our goods across country to seven more states and stops. Each stop, the driver unloaded and reloading (this was not a moving truck, but a Matson Container). The driver encountered multiple storms and delays.

The extended travel period, ensuing storms, heat, water, mold, pilferage, and careless reloading had so damaged the shipment that by the time the goods returned to Colorado, it was a TOTAL LOSS. A large portion of items were simply MISSING! All furniture was damaged beyond use and every remaining box of goods had either been crushed, reorganized and retaped, missed items inside, or soiled beyond use (lubrication oil from the truck!). The driver stated the he couldn't monitor his (low paid) day laborer helpers while unloading and that they were prone to pilferage.

We complained repeatedly to the management (Frank, Pedro and others) and owner, (I believe, Eli Cohen of Pacoima, CA), and get no response. When this was happening, I called and asked to have Eli call me ASAP, but they said he was vacationing in Hawaii; I said, doesn't he have a cell#? He NEVER called.

We have filed complaints with US Fed Govmt, FMCSA, and State Governments of Hawaii, California and Colorado.

I caution you in using West Point/All Points unless you don't care risking a TOTAL LOSS of your Shipment!

Call your congressman and senators and request the Federal Government take immediate action to stop fraudulent practices and prevent collusion in this industry!

Ask them to closely monitor and enforce Brokers, Agents and Moving companies, and prohibit BROKERS and AGENTS from "Fronting" for Moving companies with bad records with the BBB, FMCSA, or rip-off report!
