Western Horizon Resorts, Camp Verde River Resort, Camp Verde, AZ Robery at Camp Verde, AZ Camp Verde, Arizona

In March, 1997, my wife and I were invited to camp atCamp Verde Resort for free and then listened to a sales pitch. The campground was very nice as were the facilities, so we signed a contract.

We stayed Camp Verde a few times, but a serious family crisis arose and we moved back to South Dakota. We didn't return to Camp Verde until Nov. 2009 and we could not believe what we were seeing. The place was run down beyond belief! Every space we tried to walk our dogs was full of sand burs, and very painful for the poor animals, so we walked them on the road (the "road" was really more like a flat area with some gravel and lots of pot holes).

They advertised WIFI, we paid for this and got a chit to sign in. The time allowed was a few minutes, during witch time most often it connect, your time was gone and we had to buy another chit.

As soon as we got home, we called the Western Horizon Resorts in Gunnison, CO and told them we would never pay them a cent again, and my wife followed it with a letter. We also told them that as close we could figure out that they owed us around$3,900 in dues that obviously never went to Camp Verde, AZ.

We just received a statement for 2011 dues, $305, and when I tried to call them, I had no luck and I tried to go to Western Horizon Resort web page, I got a reply saying that this web site was no longer active.
