These guys sell shady cars. The reason why they are able to put low prices is because they buy cars that have big problems and sell them without making many repairs. They make you sign papers clearing themselves of any responsibility because their cars are garbage. I bought a 2003 Audi from them and it turns out the car has water ingress in the locking module. The keyless entry does not work. The trunk does not open normally. The windows do not work. The dashboard messages are messed up. The car had a wheel bearing problem which they were not going to disclose either unless I brought it up. The windshield was cracked. Tone the check engine light is on too. It's only been one month since we had the car. In fact I hope everybody who has bought from them before will contact the Illinois DMV and file a complaint against them.

It appears as though you still don't understand AS-IS

"It was the middle of winter so there is no reason to open the windows and sunroof at the time."
There was a reason; to verify their proper operation.
Did you miss the cracked windshield because there was no reason to look through it?
"There's no paper in the widow with the details of the car. ( federally required)"
It's a window, not a widow. The FTCs Used Car Rule requires dealers to post Buyers Guides prominently in all vehicles that are offered for sale. The Guides must indicate whether a warranty is offered. You made it clear that you were aware there was no warranty. What other details are required by federal law?
The IL Attorney General will probably not be able to assist you because you purchased the vehicle AS-IS. Are you sure the IL DMV accepts complaints concerning auto purchases? The BBB is corrupt and has no power.
Too bad you did your homework after the sale.

These are the options you have. These guys do false advertising. So this is what one should do. Contact the following, not necessarily in this order: 1. Dealers License Board 2. Attorney General 3. DMV 4. There's no paper in the widow with the details of the car. ( federally required) 5. If they falsely advertised ( they should bring it to the advertised condition) 6. Attorney generals consumer fraud office 7. Consumer affairs division of your state. 8. Better Business Bureau.

I'm sure there are laws against signing under threat and against you will.
"..I hope everybody who has bought from them before will contact the Illinois DMV and file a complaint against them."
If you bought the car, essentially as is, what sort of complaint will you file against them with the Illinois DMV? Does the DMV take action against dealers for holding you against your will and forcing you to sign papers you don't agree with?
Good luck...let us know how that works out.

The check engine light was not on at the time. It was the middle of winter so there is no reason to open the windows and sunroof at the time. The ad mentioned power windows and none of the windows work anyway. Also there was no gas in the car at the time of sale so I thought the gas light was on for that reason. But even after the tank was filled up, the light stayed on.

Why did you overlook the engine light, cracked windshield and dashboard messages during the test-drive?
