Weston Hurd Law Firm Definitely Avoid Weston Hurd Cleveland Ohio

While they do some things well, Weston Hurd (Cleveland, Ohio) overall is a very problematic law firm. I was a client of theirs. I have also spoken with numerous others who have experience with Weston Hurd. I am also familiar with their reputation in the Cleveland area. So I feel like I am in a position to give an accurate and informed review of this law firm. I can tell you that from what I have been hearing, their reputation has been going downhill steadily in recent years. As I understand it, some lawyers there feel that the main problem is the Managing Partner Carolyn Cappel. Apparently, there is a widespread belief that she is not able to run the company effectively, which has helped drag the firm’s reputation down. There are also the problems they have had with their bill-padding scandal. One of their lawyers – Scott Smith – was caught padding bills and suspended for two years by the Ohio Supreme Court. Since then there have apparently been additional lawyers who have been caught bill-padding. I know the invoices they sent me were ridiculously high. Bottom line, from everything I’ve heard and experienced, avoid Weston Hurd.
