Biggest Hazard & Driver Money Scam Ever!!

In short your hired to be fired: Turnover period 3-4 weeks for smart drivers or 3 months max.

Scott scam: goes like this Big Money Promise to drivers. "Phoney Driver fund"
(his personal drug fund)
Clips $50.00 per week from your check. Up to a $1000 if you stay that long.
Owner asks and forces drivers to run 3,900 to 4,600 miles per week.

(I am making no admissions of ever running: off the books myself).

I will say that
"New Weston drivers" are asks to run around 3,900 to 4,600 per week.

Many do drive that many miles as crazy as that sounds:

They don't use pre pass as that proves drivers are on the road far beyond
What is legal so they never do anything to prove how illegal an operation? They are running.

I should have posted this sooner I did not out of fear of harm to myself from The owner of this company whom seems to have everyone on pay roll from Local cops to you name it.

Zero consideration Is given to driver health rest safety. The force can take many forms. The driver is just expected to drive like a mad man 6 days a week.

They do get you home once a week but that is all they do for you and mostly.

That is because they only hire drivers close to Kansas City. In the short time I worked for this company.

I was asked to break "hours of service"
Are you paid for all those miles? No one ever is.

In fact Owner Scott uses A third party to pay you and he contract states you don't even work for him.

U-work for and are paid by another scammer: people pay system or something like that.

Its a work around this scammer employs.

Its just one more way to cheat the driver. Out of money and shield Owner Scott from law suits. Which I am sure he has had or should have had by now.

I was promised .36 per mile. I wasn't even paid .31 per mile.

In fact for the nearly ____ plus miles. I was forced to drive over my limits by use of threats.

In the form of a PHONY DAC report. Wanting to run legal isn't something Weston Transportation Inc. Understands and they run you down every chance they get.

If you don't do whatever they want. This is the worst place any driver can go.

Much less a new driver who hasn't got any idea about trucking.

Weston tells all brand new drivers that log books are
a joke and they don't care what you turn in because they can always rewrite it.

Well I have a hard enough time keeping logbooks doing it legal. I sure can't keep logs which aren't legal and I don't want to either.

If I can save one driver from ever going to this place to work. Its worth it and it just might save your life in process.

As well as someone elses.
If you do over drive your logbook as they push you do to. They know they can only cover it and jumble the hours so long.

So if you don't mind $300 a week for about 4,000 miles a week they will keep you. If not they will let you go and if you ask for your money they will let you go.

But if youre really smart your gone 3 weeks and without any money.

Anything they can do to force more out a driver they will do. Things they do In this company are just unheard of:

This is the most dangerous company I have ever worked for in my life. I figured out right away this was big rip Off and a danger to the public at large and I wanted to get as far as from them as I could as fast as I could and I did.

Why the DOT hasn't sent a under cover agent in this place to pose a driver I don't know. But had they done so at least one life could have been spared.
More people will die if this "crack head coke head or dope head is allowed to Operate this company

In about 3 weeks I was paid $300. per week. Up on leaving this rip off company. None of my drive safety protection fund money was ever returned to me.

Scott is the trickiest trickster I have ever met in my life in any line of work.
He no doubt has some sort of a major drug problem. Any one around him very much would notice something is very wrong with this guy.

He hauls mostly Auto parts for Ford out of Clay Como Mo. He brags about having 40 trucks running. He brags about hauling for Ford Motor company for 15 years and the fact he has 40 trucks running but only reports 37 and he brags a lot.

He has a few old men drivers who do run legal and at .34 a mile but I would guess that is a cover for everything else he does wrong.

Checking Dot records shows :Crashes reported to FMCSA by states for 24 months prior to: 01/12/2008

Crashes
Type: Fatal 1 Injury:2 Tow:4 Total:7

I knew as I was leaving someone or many would die in the course of working for the Evil ruthless man.

I don't know how DOT will allow this sort of thing of go on and on without putting a end to this shame and Huge Danger to the Public at Large.

Just think a driver leaves Kansas City drives to Detroit and then is asks to pick up a load and drive it all the way back with out stopping to sleep.
If you do sleep a few hours just enough to prevent driving over a cliff.

Weston Transportation is NO MORE !

AUTHOR: Anymouse - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 03, 2022

Weston Transportation had to close it's doors and sell out due to the incompetence of the Owner, Scott Shriner.  He sold thje company to Schmuel Brothers, an Intermodal Freight Company in Kansas City Kansas.  I guess the blood all over his hands as well as karma coming back to bite him in the a*s after screwing over so many long term employees really got to the loser.

First of all this individual worked for said company for many many years. (lets just say more than 10) He is the person who said he quit due to running illegally and being caught in the process.  Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me.

No so sure about the crackhead part of this report, but after working for this company for many years I feel I can set the record straight.  This company is NOT a trucking company any self respecting truck driver would want to work for.  In the early days of working here, we were forced ti drive illegally, i.e. round trips to Detroit Michigan with only little rest.

They illegally reported to Ford Motor Company that they were abiding by the Fair Labor Standards Act that we were being paid fair wages for our work.  Trucks were being held together with a wing and a prayer, junk equipment, except for always keeping trailers that Ford would accept.  Later on, new equipment was bought, thanks to the high fees that Ford was paying them.  They would take round trip money from Ford, booking return freight through other brokers, doubling the take on the return load.

When Ford started lowering their rates because other companies were interested in hauling the auto freight, then Weston bailed out.  Taking brokered freight from what ever spot brokers they could get freight from kept them afloat.  Then came Indianapolis, Indiana crash in 2019.  The driver that administered the road test for Bruce Pollard specifically reccommended not hiring him, but greedy Scott Shriner, wanting to fill another empty spot, hired him.

Details here : https://www.wrtv.com/news/local-news/crime/bruce-pollard-semi-driver-who-caused-crash-that-killed-mother-and-twin-daughters-sentenced-to-9-years.  The blood from Alanna Koons and her twin daughters are all over Scott Shriner's hands.

the truth of the matter

AUTHOR: Sandy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 29, 2009

I first spoke to Weston Transportation about coming to work there in June of 2008 after speaking to several of their drivers.  At that time or since nothing was said to me about any sort of hiring bonus either by Scott nor the drivers I spoke to, though as at many old time companies especially small ones, an escrow account would be taken out of my pay up to $1000.00 to cover any damage to the equipment or claims.  The rate the escrow monies would be taken out was $25.00 a week.  If I had a family emergency, this money would be available for me to get.

The pay promised was starting @ $.31 cents per mile with penny raises at the end of the year.  Miles promised at that time were 3500 a week and home every weekend.

I spoke with them again in July of 2008 and went down to KC to interview them in person and to check out their operation.  The operation is small of course due to Weston being a 40 truck company.  I know that it is a 40 truck company because while sitting there, I was looking at their dispatch board on the wall and counted the number of trucks there.

I was told that I would technically be paid by Peoplelease because it cut down on overhead for Weston in not having to have a payroll clerk.

Weston only hires experienced drivers with at least 3 years experience and clean records.  Over half of their drivers have been there 1+ years with many there 5+ years.

I liked the equipment which is less than 3 years old and I especially liked the pleasantness of the office staff.  Scott Schriner was very nice and respectful to me.

I went to work at Weston Transportation as a driver 8/1/08 and have been there since through all the problems the economy has caused to trucking companies throughout the country.

My pay is right every week, the benefits  provided are adequate and though miles have dropped off due to the economy, Scott and the other dispatchers work hard to keep us running fairly with equal miles between us drivers.

I have had many family problems this last year with two deaths in the family...one sudden and one brother who was sick 6 weeks before dying.  Weston made sure that I was home for as long as I needed to be with my truck sitting in the front yard of my house.  They allowed me to take their truck to the hospital in KC to see my brother.

I ended up in the hospital myself in July for 4 1/2 days.  I went in on a weekend while I was under load.  They sent a driver up to repower the load, but again, my truck stayed at my house.  When I offered to reimburse them for the expense of having to send a driver up to get the load and me having to deadhead back to KC, they refused to take my money.

We are expected, as at any company, to maximize our hours...that means running 11 hours a day.  Never once have I been turned down, threatened or coerced to run illegally when I say I am too tired to run.

To say that I am happy at Weston Transportation is an understatement.

Now the funny thing about the reports here is that they are all written on the same bad information...that $50.00 is taken out of people's pay for the escrow account though none say it is for an escrow account.  That is strange wouldn't you think in 3 different reports from supposedly 3 different people?

Furthermore, I have been around people using drugs and I go to the office often and have never seen any indication that Scott nor anyone else in the office is on drugs.  I have seen him tired, frustrated and angry though...normal behavior for a boss at a trucking company.  But ya know?  I have screwed up and he has been a little angry, but has never disrespected me or any other driver in my presence...haven't even heard that he has from the other drivers at Weston.

As far as Weston's safety stats...as a life member of OOIDA, I know to check those before going to work for any company.  For a small trucking company that has been in business for 20+ years, they are about average nationwide with most of the findings being minor equipment problems like lights out.  1 fatality accident in 20+ years is pretty good as far as stats go.

Bottom line, I wonder who the one person is who was so disgruntled at Weston in whatever capacity it was who wrote these three reports...obviously not a driver or at least one who knows anything about truck driving or trucking companies.  Bunch of sour grapes in my opinion...and after 37 years in the trucking industry, I know sour grapes when I see them.

Ya'll be safe out there!

Lady G
