I would like to start this off by saying, do not attend this school. They prey on people who can't attend a full-time university or college physically and need the flexibility of an on-line school. I am a veteran of the US military and decided that I wanted to take advantage of my GI bill. I work a full time 2nd shift job and had tried to attend the local university, however, I needed more flexibilty. I did my research and found this school. Upon talking to them, I felt that the degree and flexibility would suit me.

I went ahead and applied. I did ask if they were accredited and they said yes. Next they put me in touch with the veterans advisor. This was the 2nd time I asked if they were accredited and he stated that he would not have a job if they weren't. My first week of class rolled around and I completed the work needed. They were calling me having me apply for various scholarships, etc. They had also informed me that although my GI bill would be sent to me, I would need to send that money to them to cover what federal finacial aid did not cover.

Then on a Friday, I received a call stating that I was going to have to pay them $5000.00 on top of everything else. I requested an itemized statement of what I was being charged. The more I thought about it, I was bugged by having to pay $70,000 for a degree. I checked this website and found all the complaints written against the college. First thing Monday morning I called to withdraw from the college. If I was not officially withdrawn by the 17th, I would start acquiring charges. Of course they tried to talk me out of it, but I insisted they withdraw me.

The following day I checked and they still had not withdrawn me. I demanded to speak to the director of the school. He stated that they didn't withdraw me because they wanted to give me a few days to think it over. He also stated that if I withdrew, it would be harder for me to get into another school. This of course was false, because I had already started the process of registering at Devrey. Sounds like I was one of the lucky ones and only paid the application/registration fee and for my books. I had only put one week into the actual courses. I wanted to warn those, especially veterans, to thoroughly look at this school and all others before attending.
