Wild Blue advertised up to 512 Kbps download speed. Tests proved speed averaged between 100 and 250 Kbps, resulting in many hours per day internet was inaccessible. When I called repeatedly for help, I was reminded each time that they provide "up to" 512 Kbps. Anything less is acceptable! Convinced me I needed the 1.5 Mbps package at additional $30/month. Three weeks of tests averaged 343 Kbps. Not even up to their basic 512 Kbps standards.

Was originally charged $199 for equipment (modem and dish)Installation was advertised as "FREE." When I cancelled the service (after 27 days), I was told that there would be no refund, and part of the $199 was for installation and connection fees. Was forced to return modem or incur an additional $400+ to purchase it. Am now stuck with worthless dish.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

File a complaint to the BBB Denver/ Boulder

AUTHOR: Dale - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 23, 2009

I had the same problem and filed a complaint to the BBB --after 2 months of communication, Wildblue credited my Mastercard account for the " early Termination fee. I would also suggest filing a complaint with your State Att. Office ( consumer protection ). If you present good information and also explain the deceptive advertising , you should be able to get some of your money back. If they took out money from your credit card company, file a " dispute " with the credit card company. Be persistent--Wild Blue cannot ignore the high complaint volumn.
