Quite simply, I requested a refund for a game that I accidentally purchased for $19.99, and they said since I had used the unlock code I could no longer be issued a refund. But after I request this refund, they said, okay, the unlock code will no longer be valid, and then I decided to purchase the game outright. Then I decided not to play the game any more, and I deleted it off my system. I have no trace of "Fate: Undiscovered Realms" anywhere on my computer. I have not used the second unlock code, since I no longer have the game, and this is specifically what I requested the refund for. They said they won't do it. I said that I followed their terms to request the refund within seven days and have not used the second unlock code, and also because the first unlock code has been canceled and a refund of $6.99 was supposedly issued to cancel my first wildcoins membership, all because of text that was not revealed at the time of sale.
Wildtangent scurried to include the terms about joining a membership at the time of sale, and now it is patently clear that when you buy a game for a discounted price, you are also joining a one-year membership that costs $ 83.88 per year.
But now, all Wildtangent wants to do is find reasons NOT to issue a refund on the game I no longer own. If they want to do business this way, fine, I cannot stop them. The only thing I can say is--I'd rather be cheated than be a cheater. Wildtangent definitely falls into the latter category, so consider very carefully any program you purchase from your OEM game platform or from their download site.
Spybot Search and Destroy has Wildtangent as a form of spyware, and I should have heeded their warning, in spite of any subsequent rebuttals that may follow this complaint. They are determined at only one thing: keeping your money after they take it, and arguing with you all day rather than just giving you a requested refund and letting you get on with your day 100% satisfied. I've never dealt with a company that is so dedicated to making the customer remain UNsatisfied.
