  I'm a small business man located in Dallas Texas. We own a reparable remodeling company. We take pride in the quality of work we provide at a fair price. But I'm not here to sell you on our quality or price. I'm here to tell you about a person who has had several projects performed on their personal residence, and doesn't pay anything past the first initial down payment. As I'm investigate my own situation. I've discovered there are six other contractors just like me who have worked on their home. What a coincidence how everyone gets 95% complete before they are not allowed back on the property. I've personally spent thousands of dollars in material on their home. I approach them with the receipts and I was given a excuse that they would pay at the end of the job. I had no choice but to say no problem. I was two far invested at that point. We continued working. In fact we worked till 9 o'clock at night two night's in a row. That's no problem, we do what it takes to get the job done. The night before we are scheduled to return the next morning to complete the punch out list. I was told by one of my other employees that his boss was hired directly by the homeowner. Keep in mind his boss works for me. From what I've seen during my investigation of other contractors this is there MO. I confronted him about it and he admits it. I then terminated him. I show up unannounced the next morning to check on my other employees. When I knock on the door the homeowner stands in the doorway and will not allow me entry into the home. I look around her into the living room and noticed my other employee who is on my clock sitting on her couch drinking tea. He then comes outside and begins to tell me how they're offering him a job and he wants more money for me. I've now been kicked off the job completely and I'm being told my $6000 will not be paid. My next step is to call their church, homeowners association, and neighbors to take up an offering to help them pay their bills.
