I transferred my case from my first lawyer to Bill Hobson and signed an agreement that he will represent me in court.  He took a $1000 deposit from me but within half hour he called and said he will not show up at the hearing and he will send someone who has no experience. My fisrt lawyer by than had a settlement in my case so I called Bill Hobson in one hour from signing the contract that I will not go with him because my first lawyer had a settlement worked out and also Bill Hobson lying that he will take care of my case.  I wanted to see if I can get my $1000 deposit since he has absolutely done nothing and did not spend any time in my case, he refused and said it is non refundable.  He actually cashed my check within one hour by going to the bank.  I asked him many times to refund the money but he ate every penny of it.  He is a crook, a liar, cheater and no one should trust him or hire him.

William D Hubson is absolutely not telling the truth. He knew my case. I had a hearing in three days. He kept rushing me so much that he was willing to come to my home and get me signed his papers. He made numerous calls and sent many text messages to my wife as well to get us signed. Something didn't feel right with him because no lawyer is willing to come to your home at 7pm to discuss your case unliss he is not after a ripoff.  He promised me that he will be there for me. His colleague is not experienced because he said so. Also he never worked 10 hours with my first lawyer to discuss my case. He just made a phone call and got only 3 pages faxed to him. His initial consultation was 35 minutes which he promised that it was free As all the lawyers offer free consultation. I can certainly provide proof on all of these. it seems like lying is his thing. I just don't know how disparate these lawyers got that they will do anything and take any chance to rip people off and take advantage of people's misery. If Bill has any decency, he will refund the money. The money does not belong to him and he knows that he absolutely did no work to deserve $1000 Otherwise, God will make him pay with his health and life.

The TRUTH

AUTHOR: W D Hobson Esq. - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 21, 2013

I was retained by Mr. Jujhar to represent him on pending criminal charges in Delaware County. Mr. Jujhar had originally retained another attorney and was dissatisfied with his representation. He was charged with felony aggravated assault against police officers. He also wanted me to pursue a civil lawsuit against the Upper Chichester Police Department.

Mr. Jujhar signed a fee aggreement for my legal services for $7,500. I originally quoted him a fee of $10,000, which was on par to what his original attorney had quoted him, whom he had already paid a $2,500 retainer. I then agreed to deduct $2,500 from my fee because his previous attorney would not refund his retainer.

I agreed to place him on a payment plan and he put down a NON-refunable $1,000 retainer. Typically, I require at least $2,500 to retain my services, but I was trying to help Mr. Jujhar out in this case because he had already paid a retainer to another attorney. I entered my appearance and received the legal file from his prior attorney. I also reviewed all police reports and discovery.

Upon signing the fee agreement and beginning to work on this matter, I learned that Mr. Jujhar's arraignment was in three days and I already had previous obligations at that time. I informed him of the conflict and told him I would send either a colleague, or my partner on my behalf, both of which are very experienced criminal trial attorneys.

Mr. Jujhar was upset by this and asked for a refund of my NON-refundable retainer. I had already spent over 3 hours with him at the initial consultation and another 10 hours contacting his previous attorney, preparing paperwork and reviewing police reports, discovery and other files pertaining to the matter. My hourly rate without a fee aggreement is $350, but we already had a signed agreement for $7,500 so I was not billing him per hour.

No attorney returns their retainer after spending over 13 hours on a case, especially if only a small portion of the fee has been paid. This $1,000 retainer was NON-refundable, which was clearly explained in the contract. I am sorry that Mr. Jujhar was not pleased with my professional services, but his comments of me being a crook, liar and cheat are just not true at all and should be considered slander.

As far as me cashing the check that day, I had deposited the funds into my account at the end of the work day to make sure the check would not bounce. I do this with every client and was not trying to cheat anyone. If anything, Mr. Jujhar was attempting to cheat me for free legal advice. Sorry buddy, nothing is free, especially not my time. Good Luck.
