I contracted Mr. Mobley of Scenery Unlimited Landscape & Design to install pavers (steps) in my back yard. The start date of the project was to commence on or around 5/10/2008 with the initial delivery of materials dropped off at that time.
We came home to notice no materials were left and no messages were left for us. I contacted Mr. Mobley on Monday 5/12/2008 and he stated he was running behind on projects. He would have materials there on that Monday 5/12/2008 and have his crew start work on Thursday or Friday of the same week.
I told him this was fine AND to please call or email me with a DEFINITE day of arrival to start so that I could have the back yard accessible. No calls/emails were made and Thursday/Friday came and went. I have been emailing Mr. Mobley during the week to stay in contact with him with NO responses. My wife and I started calling him on 5/14/2008 with continued calls on 5/15/2008 and 5/16/2008 (several times) again NO responses. All of the messages that were left were to return our calls until 5/16/2008 in which we left a stronger message to contact us or we will be moving forward.
Finally today 5/17/2008 I left a strong message for Mr. Mobley asking him to call me ASAP or we will be taking action. Mr. Mobley did call minutes later only to berate me for attempting to contact him and for leaving these messages. He stated that he would not "babysit" anyone and make return phone calls to anyone because he "was too busy" again he said I have never and never will "babysit" anyone and that since the materials were delivered that it was "common sense" that he would be there. During our conversation, I was hung up on. I called Mr. Mobley back to receive his voice mail and left him a message to call me back to attempt to resolve this matter. He DID NOT return my call.
Not having ever used this contractor before and the lack of communication that we have experienced, it was only right to attempt to make contact to discuss the fulfillment of the contract. We have given Mr. Mobley 50% of the total cost upfront as per his contract. The total cost of the job was $5300 and we gave him a check for $2650 on April 20, 2008.
We want our entire $2650 returned and his materials removed from our property.

Good experience with Scenery Unlimited and William Mobley

William Mobley of Scenery Unlimited completed an extensive landscaping and walkway design project at my home to my complete satisfaction. William had a lot of good ideas and suggestions (I gave him design freedom based on his experience.) He stayed in touch with me via telephone during the scope of the project which was completed in a timely fashion.
Overall, I am happy with the completed project and with the workmanship and the customer service I received from Scenery Unlimited during the work being performed.
