BUYER BEWARE! I was getting married and shopping for wedding dresses when someone told me about Wine Country Bride dress shop in Santa Rosa. I was never so mistreated in my entire life! One of the owners named Cirkl was rude and extremely unprofessional when I asked for assistance. When I tried on some of the dresses, the other owner David Jaworski came into the dressing room and all but accused me of trying to steal a gown. Needlesss to say I did not purchase my dress from their store and will never recommend them to my friends. I went to (((ROR REDACTED COMPETITORS NAME))) and the owner Wendy was charming, helpful and gave me great service. I not only purchased my dress from her but all my bridesmaids dresses as well.

AUTHOR: ahappybride - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, August 06, 2012

i am thrilled with wine country bride. i bought my dress there. i was helped ALOT! concidering how hard it is to try on wedding dresses. she helped me climb into them! also based on the dresses i was choosing suggested quite a few good ones to try on that led to me choosing my dress. i also separately took two of my bridesmaids in, they found dresses, got MEASURED for them and they knew we werent purchasing those days. they were totally fine with the fact! so whoever said that they arent is totally full of it. they even suggested lots of dresses and helped hold back of bridesmaids dresses so we could see them on better. everyone there was extremely polite, got an excellent cup of cappucino and had a very good time doing all of this. i didnt see any men in the back fitting areas, nor in the three times i have been there for fitting have ever seen men in back. have never seen owners either. thanks wine country bride!

This Place Sucked! (Wine Country Bride)

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, April 28, 2011

This review was posted on Yelp 9/14/10 about Wine Country Bride, Santa Rosa, California Owners David and Cirkl Jaworski

This placed sucked! ( Wine Country Bride). The girl who was helping me with my dresses, started out by texting on her phone leaving me standing there while she finished. She also very clear about what dress SHE liked and didn't like. The dresses seemed old and I didn't see any new dresses or styles.

Incorrect information

AUTHOR: Customer Service - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Hello Anonymous (whomever you are)-

Thank you for your input on this matter- I fear that you may be mistaken in your assertions about this "review" on Insider Pages... our profile on Insider Pages contains no such review.

I do monitor review sites from time to time, and if I remember correctly, this review was left on the profile of the business that previously occupied this location, Galleria Bridal, which no longer exists, and referenced the previous owner.

There were several reviews describing unfavorable interaction with the owner of that business, including this one here,  which I found on the Galleria Bridal account on Yelp (in the filtered section).

"I have never been so mortified at a business in my entire life. The Owner of this place is the rudest, sleaziest person I have ever met in my entire life. Not only did they sell the original dress that I purchased they then charged me an additional $500 before they would release the dress that I had already paid for a year in advance. This happened a few weeks before my wedding when I tried to pick up the dress, so I did not have time to find another one that I liked. He screamed at me, and I left the place in tears. This should have been an amazing experience, but he ruined at it. Not only did he yell and scream at me, but  he also yelled  his employee and my bridesmaid. I plead with anyone contemplating going there not to do so. I am one of many women I have spoken to that have had HORRID experiences."

This review, as the one that you claim is on Insider Pages, have nothing to do with Wine Country Bride, or it's owners (David and Cirkl), and to suggest such is not appropriate, and misleading.

As part of my customer service duties, I do monitor review sites, primarily looking for customers that we have not served adequately. The ownership of Wine Country Bride is committed to improving their business operations and level of service, and hearing from customers who were not satisfied opens opportunities to improve and gives us a chance to make good on our product or service offering, and do right by our customers.

I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion that "the owners of Wine Country Bride have gone to great efforts to remove or discredit negative reviews".... we have robust review portfolios on the sites you mentioned, and regularly respond to and interact with customers who have genuine concerns.

At the same time, there are some who abuse the perceived anonymity of the internet to disparage businesses through false claims- as evidenced by the initial complaint on this thread. When I politely asked Sandra to provide more specifics, or to contact us directly to try to resolve her concerns, she did neither... the silence is deafening, and indicates that maybe her claims were not sincere or truthful. Additionally, she promoted a competitor's business, and claimed a circumstances that are highly unlikely (given the layout of our store and company policies), which calls into question the genuine nature of her complaint, as well as her motives for filing it.

Her review is not the first of this nature- there seems to be an organized effort going on to discredit this business. While we welcome feedback from customers and potential clients (both good and bad), specious claims from those with conflicting interests are not appropriate, or helpful to consumers.

While we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and are committed to transparency and honesty, we hope that those who criticize our business are committed to the same ideals.

I'd also like to address the additional comments by Marion and the other anonymous commenter. I will post here the response that I left for "Michelle" who wrote one of the Yelp reviews that you referenced. I will point out that there was no response of any kind from Michelle, which calls into question her sincerity and accuracy. I will also point out that "Michelle" has never seen fit to post any other reviews for any other businesses, be they good or bad. This, as well, calls into question the validity of her account of how things happened. Here is my response to her (which you can find on that Yelp account):

"Michelle-

I'm sorry to hear that you had a less than satisfactory experience at our establishment. You make some pretty harsh accusations- unfortunately, they are not super specific, which makes it difficult to know how we might address your concerns.

The owners of Wine Country Bride are continually making attempts to improve the service and experience for their clients- they are hoping that you can be more specific with the things that you found unsatisfactory. It's difficult to know how to improve when being "horrible business owners", "complete waste of time and also crooks", "treat you poorly and take advantage of you" and "ignoring the problem" is what you mention, without any specific details or explanation.

If you would be so kind as to contact them and explain specifically what has led you to these conclusions, they would be much obliged.... and you will be doing them (and our customers) a great service in helping us identify our shortcomings.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in this matter-"

And Marion- could you please clarify what you mean by "Perhaps you get what you pay for?" Forgive my ignorance, but I don't see how this statement logically follows your questioning the integrity and honesty of this business and it's owners- seems like a non-sequitur to me... especially after you cite a review that claims (among other things) that Wine Country Bride is too expensive- can you help me understand your point, and maybe provide some supporting evidence? And how exactly are bad reviews being "covered up"? I'm here, responding to them in a public forum- I guess your definition of "covered up" is a little different than mine.

In response to the claim that Wine Country Bride has "TONS of negative reviews", I will simply point out that it is difficult for any business to attain 100% customer satisfaction. While we strive to both provide an excellent initial customer experience, as well as undertaking efforts to follow up and rectify any shortcomings, we don't succeed every time. Especially for a larger business such as ours, which serves hundreds of clients every month, the number of negative reviews is not extraordinary. And while you have shared some bad reviews here, there are plenty of good reviews from satisfied customers as well. Not an excuse, but accuracy and honesty is important to me.

I want to also point out two other things:

1. Some of the reviews on some of the sites (both good and bad) are left over from the previous business at this location, also a wedding dress shop. While the line of business is the same, ownership, management, layout, business model, appearance and workforce are all new and quite different. So any reviews prior to the current owners taking over in July of 2009 are not reviews of this business. The transition and transformation to the new business was not complete until April of 2010.

2. Using just one metric, the average Yelp rating, Wine Country Bride is achieving favorable customer satisfactions ratings when compared with the other local bridal shops. A quick survey of Sonoma County bridal shops shows that Wine Country Bride's 3.5 out of 5 star rating is on par with the best shops in town, which range from a 2.5 to a 3.5 star rating.

We are committed to bringing that up to a 5 star rating.... it won't happen overnight, but we are working diligently to provide the absolute best experience possible for our brides and their parties.

That being said, if you have specific concerns or complaints based on your interaction with our company, please feel free to post them here, or send them to me personally, and I will be happy to bring them to the owners or address them myself, if I can. I can be reached by email at clay@winecountrybride.com, or at 707-544-3695.

MORE negative reciews on Wibe Country Bride

Posted on Yelp 4/10/10
If you are looking for a bridal shop wth ZERO customer service and rude employees, then this is the place for you!
My 3 bridesmaids and Matron of Honor ( which was difficult enough getting them all together at once) went there to purchase 4 dresses and apparently they didn't care if they receive my business or not. We booked an appt about a month in advance and the morning of the appt we called to advise them we would be an hour late due to traffic from Redwood City. When we arrived, no one greeted us or even acknowledged our presence. After sitting on the couches for 10 minutes, a girl wandered over from the front desk which was already filled with about 6 employees just standing around and chatting and she asked us if we had an appointment and we advised her that we did, but had called earlier to say we would be late and gave her the name of the person we spoke to. She scolded us and said "YOU were suppose to be here at 11:30am!" UM excuse me??!! I thought trying on bridal dresses is supposed to be fun and enjoyable experience and the shop you choose, is in business to HELP you....?
So were were finally led in silence, into the back room which is where all the dresses were( which I found odd that you can't browse any dresses unless you are escorted) and then the girl just disappeared for about 10 minutes, leaving us to wander around aimlessly. Shouldn't she have been asking questions like "what are your wedding colors?" or "what styles are you interested in?" or anything??!
We located a few dresses we wished to try on and when the girl finally appeared again,we asked to try them on. I thought bridal shops involved possibly turning on the light on for you in your dressing room and maybe even helping you zip up instead of just standing there watch you struggle. OH wait, only one of my bridesmaids was watched, the other bridesmaids were left to struggle in an empty room because the girl who was suppose to "helping" us decided to go to LUNCH!! Yep, you heard me. We liked the dresses we got ourselves into so we asked if they could take measurements. UM....they don't take measurements unless you give them a down payment on a dress! I've never heard of that in my life! Needless to say, we decided right then and there were were not going to purchase anything from this silly excuse for a business. If I could give them zero stars, I would. These people are so unprofessional, I'd rather have a barrel of monkeys assist me with picking out dresses than go there. At least monkey's are fun.

Seems there are TONS of these negative reviews on Wine Country Bride!

Wine Country Bride -Is dishonesty your policy?

AUTHOR: Marion L. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 19, 2011

An interesting Yelp submission:

I wouldnt bother with this place. They really truely are horrible business owners. You should never lie to your customers to make them happy for a moment. This couple (David Janowski & Cirkl of Wine Country Bride), that has purchased this place are a complete waste of time and also crooks. You can find the same products elsewhere for much less and if you think you get what you pay for then your wrong when it comes to this place because you dont even get good customer service. They treat you poorly and try to take advantage of you. Also if you have a problem and post it... they will call you and promise to fix it but really they just want you to remove the post so they dont look bad. They will promise everything under the sun to get you to remove the post and when you do they will just go back to ignoring the problem. So do yourself a favor and if you want your wedding to go off without a hitch and your wedding party to be just as happy as you are then go ANYWHERE else but here.

Seems like there is quite a bit of negative press on Wine Country Bride on David Janowski and Cirkl that continues to get covered up. Wonder why that is? Perhaps you get what you pay for!

Negative reviews of Wine Country Bride, Santa Rosa California

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, April 18, 2011

This review was posted on Insider Pages 7/10 about Wine Country Bride

Don't patronise them! Horrible experience. The male owner was one of the rudest individuals I have ever met! Very condesending and nasty. I don't recommend this business to any prospective brides. Spend your money elsewhere!
Jennifer

Seems the owners of Wine Country Bride have gone to great efforts to remove or discredit negative reviews of their bridal store on sites such as Yahoo, Project Wedding, Yelp, Insiders Pages and Judy's Book.

Thanx Robert

AUTHOR: Customer Service - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, February 06, 2011

Hi Robert-

Thank you for that analysis. While we had our suspicions that the person's complaints may not have been genuine (due to incorrect or missing information and impossible claims), we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If someone truly did have a bad experience, we hope that they will share with us directly- otherwise, it's difficult for us to make it right, and to learn from the experience. The fact that this person has not clarified, or added further draws into question the validity of their claims.

I imagine that there's a decent chance that the original post was written by someone associated with a competitor- I find it sad that people feel the need to try to tear down others, instead of just letting their business shine.

I also find it less than professional that Ripoff Report allows someone to post unsubstantiated claims like this, and then to plug a competitor... I find it to be poor business practice, and a misrepresentation of their purpose for being here.

Anyway, thanks again for your candor, and explanation. I hope that in the future, people will take the high road instead of using this kind of tactic.

Thanks-

Clay

Here is a guess.

This is either a fake report trying to promote another business, or an ex-employee. Normally this site redacts out competetors names but sometimes they get missed.

Don't be surprised if you never hear from this "person" again, or if you do they provide "facts" that could not have happened.

Surprising Report

AUTHOR: Customer Service - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 01, 2011

Hi Sandra-

I'm quite bewildered to hear that you had such a bad experience in our shop- it sounds so uncharacteristic of the way that we strive to treat our customers.

It's really surprising as well, because we have never had any theft issues- we have the most wonderful customers, and have never even come close to accusing anyone of stealing merchandise.

Additionally, our dressing rooms are secluded in an area that is off-limits to men during working hours- so I'm trying to understand how David would have come into yours?

If you would be so kind as to provide us with some more specific information- we are always happy to receive feedback from our customers (and potential customers), but without more specific details it's difficult to pinpoint ways to improve, and try to make sure that your experience with us is a better one.

I'm also hoping that you can explain the dishonest part- nothing in the body of your report explains anything that would be considered dishonest, which is one of the words you used in the title.

Please feel free to contact me at clay@winecountrybride.com, or 707-544-3695 if you'd like to discuss privately.

Thank you in advance for clarifying and helping us improve our performance.
