A little over a month ago I went on an interview with a company called WMG (Wave Marketing Group) in Tinton Falls NJ.  I did a little research and found this site, but decided to go on the interview anyway as I had recently found myself out of work and didn't want to miss out on an opportunity just because of some internet posts.  I figured I would see for myself what they were all about.  Everything I read about them on here was 100% true.  Some guy Andrew going on and on about how they market for Home Depot, pro sports teams, various entertainment venues, and just about every other market under the sun.  Seemed very odd to be involved in so many different fields.  Within minutes he thought I'd be a great fit and wanted me to come back for another interview, despite the only thing he asked me was if I knew this guy he knew from my high school that had played football.  Once again, very job relevant, we both knew a star football player from my high school from ten years ago.  I've never had that come up in a job interview.  Another thing I found strange was the flat screen TV in his office that was on ESPN.  I've never worked at an office where we watched TV, seeing as how it would be distracting employees from actual work.  There was also no computers, filing cabinets, or other typical things you would see in an office.

Anyway fast forward to today and I have a missed call from a Trade Management Group.  The lady Samantha says on my voicemail she found my resume online and thinks I would be a great fit and to call her back.  She had also emailed me a few hours earlier.  Most places don't try that hard to get a hold of you before they have even spoken to you.  I type the phone number into the reverse phone lookup online (great feature) and see the address.  All of a sudden it hits me that this is the same place with a different company name and one number off on the phone number.  So I decided to come on here and post this.  These con artists are now under a different company name but still pulling the same stunts.  Needless to say I'm not returning their phone call or emails to schedule an interview.  I find it amazing that places like this are allowed to exist, as I am seeing just how many bizarre scam companies their really are out there.  All in all I hope this helps someone out to not waste their time with this "company" especially on the "second interview" (which I never went on).  Thank you and good luck to all looking for work.

This is a scam!

Now this company is in Chicago area. When I went to the office for an interview, they made me fill out a form that has my personal information, education backgorund and job experience and plus 3 reference information with address and phone number. Also, there was a line for an emergency contact. There, I though it was really weird. "Why do they need all these when they already have my resume and why they need my emergency contact?"

Anyways, I filled it out and waited for an interview. While waiting, I googled this company and I stumbled upon this review on this site. Thank goodness that I read this before I went into the interview. I had no idea. The situation was the same as this review. The office was empty. Just a desk and a small cabinet which was also so clean. He had a pile of applications from other people on his desk and that was it. And he starts off saying that he works for fortune 500 companies and blah blah...I laughed in my head. hahaha

Of course after 20 minutes of interview or so, he says this job fits for me and will give you a call for a second interview right TODAY! Haha there's no way I'm answering that call.

Afterwards, I told him that after having an interview I changed my mind and I want my paper back then he tried to keep my reference page and only give me my resume. I said I need that page, so I took it and left the office right away. Who knows what they will do with my reference info. Calling them and say that they got the number from me and try to sell something...

What a waste of time. Hope other people don't go in the interview with this company.

NOT A REBUTTAL

This "business" is a scam and everything about it is shady! These guys are filthy liars!! I got a phone call yesterday from some lady named Samantha at a 'Trademark Management Group' about how they got my resume and they want to set up an interview with me. She metioned that the "directors are very excited about my resume and to meet with me", something I later found out they say to everyone word for word!

As a recent college graduate having a hard time getting my footing in today's job market, you can imagine my excitement! After we hung up the phone I googled the address she gave me with my boyfriend to see where exactly they were located. And boom- what poped up was a website for some company called 'Wave Marketing Group' (WMG). They listed the same exact address that Samantha gave me, and had the same exact phone number from which she called me from. Naturally, my boyfriend was like "this must be them". But I was confused, because I could have sworn she said 'Trademark Management Group' on the phone and not 'Wave Marketing Group'.

A litte while later I got a confirmation email from the same Samantha that was signed as trademarkmanagementgroup.net
So it is Trademark Management and not WMG? This left me even more confused so I decided to google Trademark Management Group and up poped a post from Ripoff Report. There was only one post and it mentioned how Trademark Management group IS INFACT Wave Marketing Group. It is a scam compnay who changed their name within the last couple of months once people started to catch on and Wave Marketing Group's reputation was tarnished.

After that I googled Wave Marketing Group and got many many more posts from Ripoff Report about how this company sucks you in by promising you a salaried position with benefits (as they promised me on the phone) but that you don't actually get that. It's not even a salaried job but rather some crumby pyramid scheme where they make you sell door to door and at retail chains when you dress up as the employees and scam customers. Which is odd because they told me I was interviewing for an administrative job. People have even posted who have worked there and never got paid!

There was also a whole forum dedicated to these scam artists on indeed.com!! Apaprently before calling themselves 'Wave Marketing Group' they went by 'JD Advertising'! Basically they just keep moving to different locations and changing their name once they are figured out. The whole thing is crazy shady!!

All of these posts kept mentioning a man named Andrew being the guy in charge of Wave Marketing Group. Well today was the morning of my potential intervieww and I decided to call the number back up prior to going and what do you know.... a guy named Andrew answers the phone!!! I ask him if this is the same company as 'Wave Marketing' and he assures me that it isn't!!

When I confront him with them having the same address and phone number online, he starts to stutter and says "uhh...yeah Wave Marketing used to work in this building but has since moved to another state, we are a completely different company" Oh really??!? You are a completely different company but just so happen to have the same name as the guy who ran Wave Marketing? He straight lied to me!!!

Your name is plastered all over the internet for being a crook and a liar, ANDREW!! You can't hide!! Everyone knows that Trademark Management is the came company as Wave Marketing and JD Advertieing and whatever other name you went by prior to that!!

When I told him about everything I saw online he basically just tried to change the subject and was like "well let me tell you what we do here" and went into his old story of how they "market for companies like Home Depot and football teams and yadda yadda" I finally told him that I don't believe a word he says and that this whole "business" sounds shady as anything and I want no part of it. Safe to say I didn't go to that interview.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!! I have no idea what they are hiding, but it sounds like a giant shady mess. Why would any respectable business need to lie like that? And coverup and change their name? These guys are a bunch of filthy crooks and it really upsets me that they are taking advantage of college students and recent graduates this way with false promises and lies. I want these guys exposed and ran out of New Jersey for good!!!!
