Well, at first I had a account with Woodforest alone and I was having my weekly check direct deposited into the bank on every Thursday. Then after about 3 months my checking account started being overdrawn and I could not understand why. I would call the branch and they would come up with some excuse everytime. Then the guy I was living with started having the same problem. So they suggested that we come in and join together and get a same loan to pay off the overdraft fee, so we did, not knowing what else to do. Things only got worse for us, everytime we would deposit money from my going to college which would some time be as much as 2500 every two months or more. He was getting extra money also. Then both of our payroll checks was deposited on Thursday morning plus my child support. We just could not get out of the OD every month there were so many and when we would talk to them about it they would have excuse of well we don't know when the pending is going to come out. Everytime I would go to the ATM the money would be deducted but then it would be pending and come out again in the pending, or if I brought something it would be deducted and then come out again from the pending. I would call them and say something to them they would come up with a excuse. I am tired of being ripped off by this bank. Please help.

What does your Checkbook Register say? If your answer is that you don't keep one, then that is your problem. If you are relying on On-Line banking for your balance..Don't. The reason you can't rely on On-Line banking is because that only shows what the merchant has submitted. It can not account for Debit Card purchases that have been made but not submitted, it can not account for checks that you have written that have not been cashed.

So what can you do. Don't spend any of the money from your deposits until it has POSTED to your account. When you make a purchase write it in your register and deduct it from your available balance immediatly. And one other major point, don't let your balance get below $0. If you do these things you will see the OD fees go away because you won't overdraw your account.
