WORLDCOM Wireless the business that doesn't give a dam , Garden City New York

I have spent countless hours on phn calls, letters, & faxes for 24 months trying to rectify a bill for a phone I never received! Worldcom will not respond!!!!

In August 2000 I was sold a cell-phone by a telemarketer and called back the next day to cancel the order. I was informed that I would have to wait for the phone to be delivered and refuse it to cancel the order.

The phone was sent to my business address and signed for by another employee. I took the un-opened box to the post office the same day and returned it, with proof of delivery and insurance. I called Worlcom to make sure the phone was received. It was. Several days later I received a bill for $29.99 -

I called and was told the bill was sent in error. 60 days later I received another bill for $34.25. Again I called and spent 47 minutes on the phone re-explaining my situation. I was assured again that the problem was resolved, that they showed the phone being returned and never activated and that I would receive a statement reflecting my zero balance.
A month later I received a late notice with a threat to discontinue service. Again I called, spending another hour on the phone and I was informed that they were changing their billing system and I should not have received the notice and I should disregard it.

I followed up my phone call with a letter. Several months went by and I received a new bill, this time for $96.90. To make a long story short, I have spent more than several hours on the phone, sent 17 letter, 2 faxes, and an e-mail to worldcom trying to resolve this issue. None of my correspondence has been answered and I am now dealing with the 2nd collection agency that they have turned this matter over to.

At the present time they are trying to collect $138.82 for a phone I never opened or activated and tried to cancel less than 12 hours after it was ordered. As of this morning I spoke to Kiki W, who does not give her last name and does not have an employee number -she was reached at 800-738-4408 and gave me reference #4287863, promising me again that my account has been removed from collections and I will receive a letter zeroing out my account in 14 business days or less.

She also re-confirmed that my phone was never activated and she can see that it was issued to a different customer. I will now actively seek a class action law suit against Worldcom wireless. Besides all of the time that I have put into this, I consider their treatment to be harassment.

Not only do I want this false debt removed from my credit and the bills to stop, I feel entitled to some kind of compensation at this point for my time, postage, faxing, personal anguish. Unless a life depends on it or I am unaware of their involvement, I will NEVER USE WORLDCOM -ever!
