Worldwide travel center is a complete ripoff. The co. offers "free" travel incentives for businesses. In my case, I joined a fitness, they gave me a travel voucher from wtc. The brochure stated I had to book travel with a 30 day notice. I tried to book a reservation 40 days in advance over the phone. I was told to send in a legal letter authorizing the resort to charge my credit card number along with a $50 refundable fee.

There was no notice of a legal letter in the travel voucher brochure, and apparently they sent my letter back ten days later stating it was not written correctly. Although it was past the 30 day deadline, I was assured my reservation was booked by several people over the phone. Well, I called back a week later after I sent in the corrected letter, and apparently, the reservation is not valid because it's past the 30 day deadline. I also found out, that you have to attend some kind of timeshare presentation, which was never mentioned in the brochure. I still haven't used the travel voucher and it seems unlikely I ever will get to, since the business hides behind shady wording and deceptive practices. What wtc is doing is barely legal, and this is the whole point.

Hmmmm. Well, I was naive and thought because the fitness center was legit, so was the incentive. I even talked to people who had supposedly used the travel voucher and they assured me it was legit. Apparently, world wide travel center is only interested in taking your money, time, and identity without delivering on the goods. Because of this experience and having read previous reports, I am switching my bank account numbers and canceling my credit cards.
They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent, and this is why I hate telemarketers and timeshare advertisers

Credit Card Required

AUTHOR: Michael Friedburg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 08, 2007

A Worldwide Travel Center three day and two night offer requires the user to own a credit card; all hotels and motels require a credit card at check in for taxes and incidentals. As all transactions are via telephone and physical credit card is present the written authorization to charge a specific credit card number is required.

Take the Timeshare Tour, Nothings Free, Its a promotion

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 30, 2007

The hotel offer is strictly for promotion of timeshare sales. That would be stated in #13 of the terms and condition section of the offer. Unfortunately World Wide Travel Center has covered their behinds by being very specific with thge terms and conditions of the offer. Some of the destinations listed are never available because there are no timeshares in those places. They benefit by sending those that qualify, e.g. married, income over 50k to the places that are available.

Most people go ahead and take the tour after frustration of getting the forms back in the mail so many times. The call center in Deerfield sold it's reservations department to a company near Daytona, however the vouchers and some calls still go to Deerfield Beach.

The runaround and obligation to tour will most likely remain the same. The renewal, child, hotel upgrade and resubmission fees are just a quick way for the owner to prosper. Always remember nothing in this life is FREE except fresh air.

I just redeemed mine

AUTHOR: A - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 30, 2006

I guess I have to defend them since I just redeemed mine. It was a bit of paperwork but they are legit. Tips for people who need to redeem them are a) you must strictly follow their instruction b) monday-thursday check in will make your process a lot easier although you can still reserve friday-sunday check in dates c)they are not good for business trip since destination flexibility is required. Other than that, I believe it's a good value.
