I recently checked my bank account and find that Ifriends has charged me $5.95. I did sign up for an "Free" account which they did charge $1 to check I was over 18. This is illegal and I will be looking into filing a report to the appropriate attorities plus I will be contacting ifriends for this matter.

We were able to locate Bloodowl's iFriends account. Shortly after posting his RipOffReport complaint, Bloodowl contacted our Customer Care department by email to question the charge that he had received. In this email, Bloodowl requested a refund and requested confirmation that his personal information would not be used in the future. A representative promptly responded to this email, letting Bloodowl know that the charge in question had been refunded, and that all of Bloodowl's personal information had been blocked and could never again be used on our services.

When Bloodowl created his account, he affirmatively chose to enroll in the upgraded iFriends VIP membership. The regular iFriends membership is free, but the VIP membership that Bloodowl chose to access has a monthly charge associated with it. This charge was clearly and conspicuously disclosed in advance, and Bloodowl elected to create his account with the VIP membership.

As stated above, after Bloodowl contacted us, the charge was refunded and his account closed and blocked, per his request. We appreciate that Bloodowl contacted us directly to resolve the matter. If he has further questions, we encourage him to contact our Customer Care department, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached by calling 1-800-243-9726 (a toll-free call from the US).

Our company has an exemplary 11-year-record with all of the leading consumer protection agencies, and we are an industry leader in the development of model online consumer best practices. Every one of our web services is verified by TRUSTe to be on its sealholder list of "the most trustworthy online businesses."
