I was checking my account balance online when I noticed a $31.48 and $4.97 charge on my account. Both were from
WPI*IFRIENDS FC MULTI 800-243-9726 FL and on the same day. Not only did I not purchase anything from Ifriends, I have not been to their site for god know's how long. I'm contacting my bank first thing in the morning to get this settled.

I remember opening a free account months ago, but have not used it for some time, and all of a sudden I'm getting charges on my card from them.

Reply from iFriends/WebPower Customer Service

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 15, 2006

Prior to posting the above RipOffReport complaint, Mike cancelled his account. At the time of this cancellation, he was contacted by a customer service representative who explained the charges to Mike. Because customer service is our number one priority, and we wish to ensure Mike's complete satisfaction with our service, we have issued refunds for the charges in question and have notified Mike of this. Should there be any further questions or concerns, he can contact our Customer Support Department 24/7 at (800) 243-9726.

The scenario presented in Mike's report is not one that realistically could have occurred on our web site. We offer several different types of memberships. While the standard iFriends membership carries no charge, the charges mentioned by Mike were for additional premium services voluntarily requested by Mike. All charges incurred by Mike on the account were clearly and conspicuously disclosed in advance. No customer could incur charges as specified in Mike's complaint without advance disclosure of such charges and numerous multiple click-throughs by the customer to indicate his acknowledgement and affirmative consent to such charges.

Our company has a spotless 11-year-record with all of the leading consumer protection agencies, and we are an industry leader in the development of model online consumer best practices. Every one of our web services is verified by TRUSTe to be on its sealholder list of "the most trustworthy online businesses." All prices and terms on our service are clearly and conspicuously disclosed, including use of prominent icons and multiple clickthroughs, in any instance in which a customer will incur charges. In addition, our "Customer is Always Right" policy ensures that we take action sufficient to obtain each customer's complete satisfaction, including making refunds for any charges which a customer has incurred but disputes.

Who gave them your credit card number?

If someone says something is free, then asks for your card number, doesn't a little bell go off inside your head?

Cancelled account and was still charged

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 04, 2006

I cancelled my (supposedly) free account with ifriends after I noticed them charging money to my credit card. Lo' and behold, the next day they decided to take another $15 from me.
