archives.com is a rip off! They offer a 'free trial' for which credit card info must be input, & fee will be charged after 7 day free period. Then an account must be created, but it's not possible to do that because it won't accept a pwd. Throws an error: must be 6 characters. Input 6 characters (actually several different combos of 6 characters, including alpha only, alpa/num & alpha/num+sp chars) & system still throws error. So account cannot be created. Emailed 'contact us' on their site. Rec'd no response.
This is clearly just a ripoff to let the free trial lapse & begin charging monthly fees for a service not able to be accessed.
NICE biz model, yea? Create a site that won't let you register, then charge for it. Don't use this 'free' geneology service!!
