 No one knows for sure who is behind these wbsites.  Our organization Class Action Against Mugshot Websites.com,  is requesting that Florida laws be changed so that no mugshot website is able to use information posted on Florida government and law enforcement agencies websites for financial gain as they have in Rhode Island.
The websites take public information from law enforcement and court sites that are not in the search engines. They then post it on their websites with html code insuring that it is pushed to the highest visible point when searched.
These mugshot sites refuse to remove the information unless the person who is affected pays a high fee for removal, usually starting at 399.99 to remove from one site. Although the sites are legal, it is by a very slim margin. This is extortion. Our organization is working to change the laws that allow these sites to obtain the information and use it for financial gain.

The websites take the mugshots of anyone ever arrested. They do not fact check if the person was ever actually charged or found guilty. So many innocent people as well are listed on these sites. The actions of these websites have damaged the reputations, relationships and employment of many people who have found their information posted

This site came to my attention from another site   http://classactionagainstmugshotwebsites.com/wordpress/ and Class Action Against Mug Shot Websites.  The confusing part is that most authors think that these websites are only out of Florida. I have done my research, they are in all 50 ststes, with no transparent DBAs, or ovesite agency. These are private entities,  behind these websites, . No one is sure who www.mugshots.com is. There have been names such

Run a Google search on your name and check for anything out of the ordinary. There are websites that are taking your past criminal records and posting them. If you are being turned down for jobs you recently applied for Google your name. You've done your time why should a cowardly entity throw it back in your face and cause you too loose employment opportunities? www.mugshots.com is posting Florida resident's past criminal records, the website claims they are doing a valuable service to the citizens all they're doing is extorting money from ex-felons and those who have had charges dropped.
These websites tell you if you want the information removed you must use one of their agents/vendors and for a fee your past will be removed, sounds like blackmail/extortion to me. Once they receive your money (CREDIT CARD INFORMATION-identifi
cation) they'll contact Google and give them a release URL and your information will be removed and there is no guarantee they won't repost it elsewhere and you'll have to repay to have it removed.
Sad thing is www.mugshots.com has an IP provider of Amazon.com and Google is a partner in crime with the website owner. The faceless entity making your life miserable is hiding in Belize. I found out who runs this sham website when I checked the IP out through www.mugshots.com.ipaddress.com
Start registering complaints with the FBI in Seattle Washington and San Francisco California, both cities are the homes of Google and Amazon.com.
