Beware of the door to door scam...

In July of 2008, I had a student named Kevin, at least that's what he said his name was, come to the door selling magazines to help him take a school trip to Europe. He gave me a song and dance about sending me a post card from his trip, how appreciative he and his family are for the help... If your reading this, you know the rest.

Foolishly, I ordered a couple of magazines, and to date I have received nothing. I tried to contact the company by phone on several occasions, and every time a recording told me everyone is busy and that the message box is too full to leave a message. After the second call if was clear that this company is a scam. I pretty much knew this when the company didn't have an 800 number for customer service.

I have also tried to send several e-mails, however the e-mail addresses listed are no good.

I'm angry about being taken advantage of, but I'm really angry at myself for falling into this scam.

Never again.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

getting in touch with xtreme inc and other multi level marketing scams

AUTHOR: Snoop - (U.S.A.)

I have recently been applying to jobs on career builder, monster, and jobs.net. I was astounded when i had 6 interviews set up for the next 3 days in a matter of hours. I researched all the companies here before I went and came to a conclusion pretty quick, they were all the same (some of them even sent me the exact same resume e-mail respone, except they were from different companies). I knew what was coming but figured it would be good interview practice at best. The reviews were like a blueprint for the interviews. By the second one, I was done. I decided to have fun with the third and showed up in the clothes I had slept in with no shower, best part about it was I still got an interview. I've noticed a lot of people, particular to this company, have been consumer rip offs as opposed to job seeker rip offs. The only thing I can think of to get in touch with these companies and at least get some satisfaction and anger out is to show up for an interview. The job sites are flooded with these companies and believe me, getting an interview is easier than falling off a cliff. It would require little time and even less effort. If I was a consumer and had been ripped off I would do a job search, show up, embares the hell out of them in front of the 30 other applicants waiting to be seen and demand my money back. It would be fun to waste their time like they have wasted hours.
