When checking my bank account online, I was surprised to find not one, but two consecutive charges for Yahoo Personal accounts. I am 45 years old and happily married. I have a Yahoo profile but it states I am 40 and married so you can see how often that gets updated and even the address is wrong.

I have some serious questions for Yahoo but this multi-billion dollar company doesn't staff a 24 hour call center...hmmmm. Just out of curiosity, I went through the motions of setting up a paying Yahoo Personals account. The secure subscription site auto-fills information from my now hidden profile. The name is incomplete of course and the address is from a home I used to own 5 years ago.

The question is how did someone use a card that was never associated with that address and charge it two times? Obviously, there are some serious security issues here. Remember that you must log in to your Yahoo account to even get to this page. It seems Yahoo should be able to get some verification by requiring user name and proper name with address match to the credit card.

My bank is very interested in this breach as well. They are top rated by Forbes for technology in protecting their clients and I am an employee as well. If Yahoo allows anyone to set up an account without proper security in payment, they should be liable.

I'll update this thread as it hopefully is resolved. If I get through to Yahoo on the phone then most likely I'll be farmed off to India to speak with a CS rep named John Wayne who will try to sell me a Yahoo Premium Email account or website hosting. I look forward to making his day.
