I received a call on 2/28/04 from a man named Sam Parker with a wierd accent. I asked him how he had gotten my phone number and my information and he told me that I had applied online for a credit card or help with improving my credit. I went along with the call because it was true, I was looking to re-establish my credit and I applied for a couple of credit cards I just didn't remember who I applied with.

He started to go on and on about what I would be receiving, that I was pre-approved for a credit card of my choice (visa or mastercard)with a limit of $2,500 and after 6 mos if payments were received on time that the limit would go up to $5,000 and then he started to go on about the extras that I would be receiving with the offer(which was kind of hard to understand because of his accent)and stated several times that it doesn't cost anything. I made sure to repeat and write down what he was telling me to make sure that I got it right. After about, 20 mins the phone went dead. I called the customer service number the next day because I was interested in this credit card with a $2,500 limit and no fees.

He called me back after a couple of days and started over with what I would be receiving and so on, then he said, all they ask for is a on time processing fee of $247.99, which I was skeptical about but I figured $250 for a limit of $2500 which I could really use at the time. wasn't that bad, so I said okay. He put me through to a super and they played a recording and I was told that it would be taken out of my account on the 9th of March and said that I could change the date if I needed to.

Well about the 7th of the month I notice that I wasn't going to have the money after paying my bills so I sent an email to cancel beacuase I didn't know when I would have the money. I went to the store on the 9th and found out they had debited my account on the 8th! So I called to find out why was my account debited on a different day than what was stated, and that I also sent an email to cancel (which I was told I could do) and all the rep could tell me is that there was nothing she could do.

Then I asked to speak to a Supervisor and she said she was the supervisor. Then I asked when was I going to receive my card and can it be expedited in some way. She said that I wasn't receiving a card and that I was only pre qualified and I wasn't getting a card in the mail. I was fuming! Not only did they take my money ahead of time, but they lied about what I was receiving. I informed her of what I was told over the phone and she said she had nothing to do with what the rep had said to me and they had me on tape saying yes to the transaction. So I said, since you taped the conversation then you have your rep on tape also, she told me no.

Well that's just great. Not only am I broke now, but the bills that I paid were sent back, I've been charged NSF fees and overdraft fees and each day my account stays overdrawn I'm charged more and more fees. They keep telling me that they have no proof yet that my account has been debited yet and it's going to take about 4 weeks to send my package where I can apply for a credit card from one of their banks. In the meantime fees are just accruing in my account and there's nothing I can do about it. I can't believe they got me. And if anyone has information on a class action suit against them I would gladly be a part of it.
