Please do use this company for any repairs or ever consider working for them. They have been involved several law suits and have lost for taking customers money and not completing the work. Feel free to reserch as the suits were filed Collin County. As a employee, I have witness this first hand. Its a revolving door here for the staff. Never paid on time if at at. Every employee is owed money. Both Past and current employees are encouraged to call the U.S. Dept. of Labor to make your claim for owed wages. Local office 817-861-2150 or 1-866-487-9243

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Zautotechs, Inc. Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Zautotechs, Inc. - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 22, 2016

We are pleased to have the ability to respond to the charges in the report above. Rip-Off report is a valuable tool and as both a consumer and a business owner, I am glad this resource is available.

Zautotechs, Inc. has been in business for almost 3 years, and during that period of time, we have worked with over 400 customers, and we still have strong relationships with many of them today, and many are repeat customers. Unfortunately, not every customer goes away happy. While our business was being managed by managers other than those who currently are running this business today, it is TRUE that Zautotechs took on projects that were either A. turn key priced by then then managers of the business for figures that could not be completed except at a major loss or B. were simply beyond the capabilities of the staff and facilities we have available.

In every case, ownership has done our very best to fulfill promises and commitments made by management, but due to financial realities of running a small business we have fallen short on a couple of occasions. It is true that we have been filed against in small claims court by two former customers. While I VERY much feel that our business and the technicians who were working for us at the time did everything in their power to make these customers happy, and in both cases we did offer to continue to work to make the customer happy, we were simply unable to do so. In both cases the court ultimately found in favor of the plaintiff, but in both cases, did so for FAR less than they were asking for.  Additionally, Zautotechs, Inc. paid both of those judgements without question, and should you choose to research those cases as suggested by the original poster, you will find that Zautotechs met it’s obligations under the judgement and have been released from said judgements.

These have been hard lessons, and as a result, we have changed our business model and our management strategy. Managers who brought these types of projects in and made commitments that the business could not keep were removed. The shop is no longer managed by a hired manager, but is rather owner managed. Additionally, all projects are brought in on a time and materials basis only, rather than being priced turn key. These changes have allowed the owners to be far more engaged in the day to day goings on in the shop, and has allowed for the cashflow for the business to complete projects working with customers who understand what it takes to do major projects of this sort.

Regarding the claim that any current or former employee or subcontractor is either NOT currently paid up, or is owed any back pay, I can flatly deny this claim. The fact of the matter is that Zautotechs, Inc. has paid fully every penny owed to any employee or subcontractor that it is aware of or has been MADE aware of. While it is true that we have been late with checks 3 times in so many years by a matter of a couple of days, these checks were always complete, OR if an error had been made it was rectified, usually the same day, but in no longer a time frame than within the next pay period. It has never been our intention to cheat or leave anyone feeling owed, and I would be MORE than happy to discuss ANY claim that any current or former employee may have, and would do so in a non-confrontational way. The last thing we want is for someone to feel like they didn’t get everything they worked for or that we promised.

I would be the first to admit we have not run a perfect business. As with all small businesses, particularly new ones, we have had to learn along the way, and have been bloodied many times learning the ins and outs of running a car shop, but the fact remains, we have far more happy customers out there than unhappy ones, and we remain friendly and in some cases personally close to MOST of our staff, both current and former.

Thank you for taking the time to read. Should you have any further questions or wish to discuss any claims further, do not hesitate to call the shop at 972-542-0255.  Thank you.
