DO NOT WORK HERE. There are many trucking companies to avoid, and this is one of them. ZERO TRANSPORT LLC (Korey Walper, CEO) provides its trucks and drivers to Tri-State Expedited who dispatches the trucks. The drivers are employees of Zero Transport LLC. Each week, Zero Transport charges the driver's net pay $25 with the notation of "Truck Escrow". The driver will never receive this money, and the practice is nothing more than a theft of money owed to the driver.

After I told them I wanted to quit, I received a text message from 1-517-442-4514 (Korey Walper's assistant, Heather) as follows, "After you deliver in Indiana today you are to come to Zero Transport office 1152 Church St Adrian MI 49221". Then my final pay contained a $100 (nice round number) deduction for unauthorized deadheading. I never deadheaded anywhere without authorization.

In fact, we were paid nothing for deadheading to pick up a load, and that amounted to about 1/3 of our miles. As a team, we were paid $0.40 per loaded mile ($0.20 each) and nothing for travel to pick-up loads. The nature of expedited services is that about 1/3 of all miles are for pick-up. If we drove 6,000 miles in a week, we each would be paid about $800 which is $0.20 per loaded mile (4,000 loaded and 2,000 empty). That would be an excellent week. We usually earned much less.

The company stole $225 from me. That is too small to pursue except by writing this report. Michigan will not pursue money for out of state workers, but they did contact the company to force them to provide my payroll stub as that is required by Michigan law. $125 was stolen by deducting it for an Escrow Account (Korey's pocket) and $100 for fictitious unauthorized deadheading (also Korey's pocket). The payroll stub does not itemize by trip. It makes it very difficult to verify that you are beinbg paid for every trip or to be sure the mileage figure is valid.

ZERO TRANSPORT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

AUTHOR: Charlton - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, February 01, 2018

This is regarding to ZERO TRANSPORT being a ripoff. I work for Zero. This company has been anything but fraudulent as far as im concerned. I do know that if you leave your truck FILTHY or on POOR CONDITION, you should be charged. The campany has to pay to have it cleaned and so should you. Regarding wages, I am considered inexperienced by many companies (3months) however the company pays me VERY WELL! You show me another company that will pay me 52cents a mile to drive tractor trailer teams. I make NO LESS than $1000 a week. And usually much more than that. We get paid ALL MILES! Paid ALL DEADHEAD MILES AT FULL RATE. BEAT THAT!!! I am going back to Reno to work a local driving job because my family needs me and my mothers health is not good, I regret leaving Zero Transport.I will make about half at my new job compared to Zero Transport. Korey is a great man to work for.I will miss this company trully! Best Regards to you all. Charlton. Reno Nv.

My husband and I did Team Driving for Korey and Heather. They were honest, kind and caring people. Our checks were always correct and we were provided with a beautiful fully stocked brand new truck. We were kept busy and our dispatchers were wonderful. The only down fall was we live on the West Coast and it was too difficult to get home. Gone ALOT. No complaints regarding this company. Sometimes others look to blame the company rather than face their own responsibility for their actions. I would work for this company again in a heartbeat. ....if they were on the West Coast. Korey and Heather were always honest with us and followed through with all they said they would.

I am glad you are happy with your experience

If you were happy with 48 cents per team mile, why are you not there any longer? My current partner and I each get 20% of the contract which works out to about 74 cents per team mile for all miles whether loaded or not, driving a reefer semi.

More lies from Zero Transport

AUTHOR: walter33445 - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 26, 2014

I did not smash into any parked tractor trailor. They have charges for escrow and unauthorized deadheading which never happened, but no charge for the $1085 in damage they claim I did. Why did they not at least record a charge for that and upload the invoice? It is because they are lying.

Go ahead and try working there if you are desperate, but you will probably loose money in the process. You would be better off living at home and working at McDonald's.

Where is the pay for travel to pick-ups?

AUTHOR: Walter - ()

POSTED: Sunday, September 28, 2014

They claim to pay for all miles, but here is my first week. The pay stub is attached. They print it with such a small font, it is very hard to read, but it says I got paid for 1,688 miles at 20 cents giving a total due of $337.60. Contrary to what they say, I had a co-driver that week until he got arrested at an Air Force base for having an outstanding warrant. Here are my miles for the week from dispatch at TRI STATE: Location Date Miles Noramco Carrollton, OH Pickup 05/01/2014 THU 164 14-0023132 Hatch Plant Baxley, GA Deliver 05/02/2014 FRI 757 Tri State Whse Charleston, SC Pickup 05/02/2014 FRI 187 14-0022789 BMW Westmont, IL Deliver 05/05/2014 MON 911 T O T A L 2,019 The 1688 miles matches the delivered miles with no pay for the "pickup" miles.

Final Pay Stub - some surprises

AUTHOR: walter33445 - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 23, 2014

I am assuming you are a driver considering employment with Zero Transport. Why else would you be reading this? My final pay stub should be attached if this web site works correctly. This is the first I had heard of a $105 drug screen deduction or a $45 background check deduction or the $4 Admin Fee whatever that is for. Expect to pay these if you work there. Zero Transport did not pay any of my transportation expenses to go to orientation or to return home. You should expect the same. If they pay it, they will deduct it later. The $1085 they talk about in their rebuttal is news to me. Why is that charge not listed with the other charges on my pay stub? And, what about the unauthorized dead-heading charge of $100? Why no info on the date, origin and destination? This was also news to me. It also never happened. The dispatchers all worked for TRI-STATE, and there was never a case of me being abusive to them or any other office help. If this is the only job you can get, them maybe you should take it. If you have alternatives, you should seriously consider them. Just remember that there are many Zero Transports out there. You can see by my pay stub that I netted $500 to $600 per week. That is likely to be your experience, too.

Mr Cushman

AUTHOR: Manager - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 22, 2014

What Mr Cushman fails to mention is that he smashed into a park tractor trailer in a truckstop causing $1085 in damage, the $100 escrow was used towards this damage, precisley why we hold escrow against employees.  All escrows are returned in full as long as truck is returned cleaned and undamaged.

Mr Cushman only work 5 weeks and only 1 as a team. as a solo he averaged 2048 loaded miles and 215 empty miles per week.  Far less empty miles than the 33% Mr Cushman claims and was paid $.20 per mile for these empty miles.

Furthmore, Mr Cushman also fails to mention he threaten to kill, yes kill his codriver by stabbing them with a knife.  He also fails to mention he was verbally abusive to dispatch and all other office personel.  We have many recorded phone calls from Mr Cushman to support this.

Everyone of Mr Cushman's claims are completely false.
