Benchmark Roofing - Carl Smith ripoff, dishonest, negligent, falsified, shingles left out, never communicates, lacks integrity, should not have license to operate, cannot locate him, still soliciting business Rancho Cucamonga California

In March of 2003 had to borrow money on a roof on my mobile that was leaking,had several estimates. Picked Benchmark Roofing,the roof and add-on. paid extra to coat add on which Mr. Carl Smith also stated would make it 10 degrees cooler in summer.

Shortly after that at first rain the add on began to leak continuous calls and finally sent a man out that barely spoke english. He put some Henry on the roof and said it was fixed. The next rain same thing . Had buckets out everywhere .

The rain kept rolling onto different places. Called again and sent another person out who supposedly patched roof. This was after a week of calling. Everytime it rained it leaked. The fellow where I borrowed the money from put a tarp on it last year.

One week to two went by Benchmark sent someone out a couple both of them couldnt speak english. They said they for sure fixed. Next rain it leaked. That was last year .All of 2004 no calls back. He lied now he said it had to be super capped.Whatever that was. He never did anything. Again the company where I borrowed the money sent a fellow and put Henry on it. Still leaked. It has ruined carpeting and many things out there.

I would have gone to lawyer but they want money up front.I do not have that money. I am still paying on money that was borrowed for roof. I am at a loss at what to do. I have contacted contractors board. The man has not tried to make it right. Now the helper from the loan company discovers that there is a shingle missing. The roofing job was not done correct.

Carl Smith is still soliciting business in the mobile home park through a monthly newspaper. I cannot go to small claims because I cannot find out his physcial address.
