They sent me a letter asking for money, plus I must choose one more video to fulfill my commitment in a specific period of time.

They said they sent me a reminder and extended the period by one month-- I do not recall getting that reminder. I do not feel that I should not have to pay a service charge, plus purchase of my last video.

I have been a member of the Columbia House Video Club for many years with no complaints whatsoever about this organization. I read all membership information carefully and retain a copy of same for reference purposes.

If you are not aware of the specific requirements to be fulfilled in order to accept Columbia House's special invitations, you have only yourself to blame. I knew from the beginning exactly how many videos I would have to purchase to fulfill the company's requirements. And, I kept track of each video I purchased.

I don't believe in bashing companies who clearly specify members' obligations, and then penalize those who do not fulfill them.

Over the years I have purchased well over 100 video tapes from Columbia House without ever feeling that I was being ripped off or taken advantage of.

I suggest that consumers read letters and informational brochures carefully before entering into a contractual relationship with any business.
